This position works collaboratively with the engineering technicians and drafting/quality manager to handle any quality control needs of the organization.
This primarily includes quality inspection of incoming material, and creating/ interpreting inspection reports. Other job functions include light mechanical assembly, driving for pickups and deliveries, some 3D modeling and drawing creation in Solidworks and other projects as assigned.
Ø Experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, models and associated documentation
Ø Perform quality control inspection of incoming material
Ø Verify component dimensions using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
Ø Perform analysis of quality concerns and generate reports
Ø Operate equipment such as Laser Scanner, CMM, Hardness Tester, training provided
Ø Using Solidworks CAD to create simple 3d models and drawings
Ø 3-5 years of industry experience in related position OR Associates degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology (or similar) AND 2 years of experience in a related role.
Ø Strong cooperation and collaboration with coworkers in various roles
Ø Able to follow directions , perform assigned tasks and work independently
Ø Ability to travel as necessary to customer facilities within the U.S. (very low frequency <1 month)
Ø Able to frequently move and manipulate parts ≤ 60 lbs
Ø Able to sit or stand as required to complete tasks
Ø Strong Mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills
Ø Able to understand and interpret engineering drawings and schematics
Ø Basic understanding of industrial processes and manufacturing techniques (Casting, fabrication, machining, forging, etc.)
Ø Familiar with Solidworks (or, Inventor, ProE, etc.) with 3d modeling and 2d drawing
Ø Strong computer skills, Microsoft Office, Excel, etc.
