Purpose of Role: The Maintenance Planner provides support for Newton’s maintenance and reliability efforts by performing job planning, requisitioning of materials and services, and coordination of future maintenance plans and projects. To be successful in this role, the following qualities are critical: maintain integrity with all daily activities, have great time-management skills and be able to act without guidance. They must also exhibit skills in building & maintaining strong relationships both internally & externally. The ideal candidate is both approachable & respectful, an advanced user of computer systems, understand CMMS practices, virtual meeting platforms and scheduling systems.

Key Responsibilities:

- Develop and maintain solid fundamental preventative and predictive schedules in the CMMS

- Collaborate with all departments to translate work requirements into clear achievable plans

- Plans maintenance tasks as well as shutdowns and other project work

- Prepares job plans for maintenance work in the mill, with safety instructions and special precautions

- Maintains physical insurance records, maintenance work instructions, maintenance MII’s, radio license records, and annual PCB reports

- Maintains maintenance and equipment records and generates reports

- Participate in the approval work request process and the weekly partner meeting with operations

- Tracks availability of crew resources

Job Knowledge and Qualifications:

- 5+ years working in a manufacturing environment as a Millwright, Electrician, or other equivalent technical trade

- Demonstrated understanding of company safety policies and expectations

- Ability to read blueprints and some drafting

- Strong PC operation and experience (Word, Access, Excel, Preventive Maintenance Systems, etc)

- Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills

- Ability to work independently

- Excellent listening, written and verbal communications skills

- Ability to make decisions and maintain composure in high-pressure situations

- Ability to work in and maintain a highly functional team environment

- Willing to work anytime as required to meet mill needs including nights, weekends and holidays if necessary

- Experience with CMMS Maintenance systems


Education:

- Maintenance background in both electrical and mechanical trades

- Associates degree and above preferred, High School diploma required.

- Previous experience with CMMS systems (currently EAM)

- Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above.
