Maintenance Planner Full-Time, Permanent Eden, WI
Graymont is seeking a Maintenance Planner in Eden, WI. Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Maintenance Planner is responsible for the effective planning, kitting, and scheduling of maintenance activities, with a strong focus on safety, work order quality, and optimal resource utilization. This role requires close collaboration with site teams, proactive management of the maintenance system (JDE), and active participation in continuous improvement initiatives to support plant reliability and operational efficiency.
- Prioritize safety considerations in all work order planning.
- Planning, kitting and scheduling of maintenance work.
- Provide detailed job plans to ensure safe and efficient execution.
- Collaborate with site maintenance team to develop standard maintenance procedures.
- Manage work notification and work order backlog.
- Facilitate scheduling meetings with supervisors.
- Develop weekly and daily schedules based on negotiated production unit priorities and current business environment to optimize the use of site wide available resources.
- Ensure appropriate scheduling balance between amount of preventative maintenance work verse corrective work.
- Publish and update daily and weekly schedules for all work groups.
- Coordinate with site maintenance lead when required to adjust schedules to accommodate changing production priorities or available resources.
- Monitor and track weekly schedule compliance and publish results site-wide.
- Follow planning and scheduling process for major shutdowns. This also includes spreadsheets, role definitions, shutdown risk identification and controls.
- Maintain and update Equipment Parts List (EPL) in JDE with the maintenance team.
- Ensure quality and accuracy of work order data in JDE, from approval to close-out.
- Participate in continuous improvement projects to eliminate defects and improve maintenance costs per ton and plant reliability.
- Train maintenance and operations personnel on proper JDE module use to improve work order quality.
- Assist in maintenance CAPEX planning.
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent, or relevant work experience.
- Beneficial Experience: Demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize, and organize tasks effectively to meet operational goals.
- Planning Methodology Expertise: Deep understanding of planning best practices, tools, and strategies, especially in a maintenance context.
- Reliability Practices: Familiarity with reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), preventive maintenance, and other practices that help ensure equipment performance and reduce downtime
- Maintenance & Production Experience: Prior experience in maintenance or production environments is considered beneficial.
- Report Writing: Ability to create clear, professional reports, likely for technical, operational, or performance tracking purposes.
- Technology Requirements: Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, and capable of learning other specialized software or tools, likely related to maintenance planning or operations.
- Interpersonal & Communication Skills: The individual should be confident and effective in communication, able to influence both internal teams and external stakeholders (such as contractors or regulatory bodies).
- Stakeholder Management: Ability to manage relationships and expectations across various groups to achieve business outcomes and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Detail-Oriented & Meticulously Organized: You have outstanding attention to detail and take pride in your work. You can multitask, prioritize competing deadlines, and have a track record for delivering work on time.
