The
Sr Engineer I, Performance Analytics,as a member of the Analytics & Monitoring team is responsible for development and management of internal asset performance analytics tools and infrastructure, for leading regular and ad hoc analysis to identify asset underperformance and mentoring team members with main focus in wind energy technologies.
The tools in our platform address actual and historical performance, provide underperformance alerts and summarize relevant asset data for a variety of audiences including upper management. The Manager, Performance Analytics will drive collaboration with O&M, Asset Management and Engineering teams to surface issues that cause assets to underperform. The development of the analytics tools and platform will be done in close collaboration with the IT/OT department as well to ensure that the system and protocols are compatible with the IT/OT strategy and guidelines of the company. The ultimate goal of the Manager, Performance Analytics is to enhance the profitability of the whole portfolio of assets by identifying underperformance and offer a perspective on possible improvement opportunities.
Role Responsibilities:
- Design, Develop and Build tools and products that determine the overall health and performance of wind generating assets
- Validate and support improvement of energy and performance calculation methods
- Provide support to regional Operations and Maintenance teams about faults, reliability and efficiency issues.
- Product Development (diagnostic and predictive analysis methods and tools)
- Power performance test process support at wind and solar sites
- Evaluate retrofit project calculations
- Build a collaborating environment with multiple stakeholders (Engineering, Operations, IT/OT and others)
- Mentor engineers in technology related topics and data analytics methods and tools.
- Drive continuous improvement processes
- Work with multiple stakeholders
- Degree in STEM from an accredited university or college is required
- A minimum of 7 years of engineering experience with demonstrated history in analytics activities and/or projects
- Excellent understanding of Wind Energy systems
- Familiarity with Condition Monitoring Systems and predictive analytics
- Excellent understanding of Operational Data and energy calculation methodologies
- Extended experience with data analysis, databases and visualization tools (e.g. Python, R, SQL, Tableau, Databricks)
- Strong familiarity with Agile methodologies
- Project management skills

- Willing to travel (up to 10% of time)
Pay range:
The annual base salary range for this position in New York is $120,000 - $160,000. The listed salary range represents our good faith estimate for this position and represents the range for new hire salaries across all U.S locations. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. RWE considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate’s education & work experience, training & certifications, and key skills as well as market and business considerations at the time of the offer.
