About The Role
As a Senior Fuel Performance Engineer, you will perform standard and non-standard reload analysis work for US and international customers, following and understanding approved methodologies, procedures, and internal processes on nuclear safety to produce error free work.
This position is located at Westinghouse Headquarters in Cranberry Township, PA with a hybrid work arrangement available. You will report to the Director - US BWR Engineering. This is a hybrid role located in Cranberry, PA.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyses will support safe plant operation by establishing thermal mechanical operating limits with licensed fuel rod design codes and methods and providing design input (initial condition and model parameters) to downstream safety analyses. Work is generally performed using Westinghouse-specific fuel performance codes such as STAV, the Westinghouse version of TRANSURANUS and ENIGMA.
- Perform engineering design and analysis and propose solutions to complex problems that are not well defined.
- Coordinate and integrate complex technical projects that encompass multiple teamsand achieve established budget and schedule requirements.
- Communicate with customers and multi-functional project teams. Be an expert knowledge resource of specific engineering discipline.
- Develop and deliver presentations to communicate status, problem resolution or promote related business products.
- Support development of new methods and processes for implementing technical requirements. Prepare technical documents for associated licensing approvals and provide expertise and consultation to technical panels, reviews, committees, regulators, customers, and partners on multiple Fuel Performance related topics.
- Support and provide technical leadership for special projects and major programs such fuel transition projects, advanced plant designs, plant chemistry programs, and resolution of customer needs and emergent issues.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering (Nuclear, Mechanical) or related discipline required
4 + years of relevant experience required
Skills in computer programing (Python).
Comfortable leading meetings and developing and delivering presentations.
Experience working with customers.
