Compensation:
Hourly rate: $60–$95/hour (equivalent to $80,000–$145,000 annually, depending on experience)

Role Overview
We are seeking two (2) Senior Electrical Engineers to join our engineering services team on a temporary contract with the potential for extension. These positions will lead and execute electrical and controls deliverables for oil and gas and energy projects, ensuring all systems are safe, practical, and aligned with client and regulatory requirements. The roles combine technical design, project coordination, and client interaction, supporting multidisciplinary teams in delivering high-quality engineering solutions.
- Design and develop electrical deliverables including load lists, single-line diagrams, layouts, grounding drawings, control panels, control loops, cable schedules, heat trace design, and area classification drawings.
- Perform engineering calculations such as voltage drop, cable sizing, tray sizing, and fugitive emission studies.
- Support power system studies and assist with technical reviews of design data.
- Collaborate with Supply Chain during RFQ cycles by preparing technical requirements, reviewing vendor data, and contributing to technical bid evaluations.
- Review project scope documents (DBMs, framing documents, deliverable lists, and estimates) to align deliverables with project requirements.
- Authenticate drawings and documents with your P.Eng. stamp.
- Provide project management for all Electrical, Instrumentation, and Controls (EIC) deliverables.
- Coordinate with designers, engineers, and other disciplines to ensure constructability and integration.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to their professional development.
- Conduct periodic site visits for scoping, inspections, technical meetings, and FATs/SATs.
- Follow QA/QC procedures to ensure all deliverables meet ANG and client standards.
- Participate in field support, commissioning, and troubleshooting activities as required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- P.Eng. registration with APEGA (or immediate eligibility).
- Minimum 7–12 years of relevant electrical engineering experience.
- Strong knowledge of 120 V–600 V and 24–125 VDC systems; medium-voltage experience is an asset.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with oil and gas, energy, or industrial projects, including brownfield environments.
- Familiarity with Canadian Electrical Code (CEC), CSA, NFPA, and Alberta Building Code standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with proven client interface experience.
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to client sites as required.
- Professional liability insurance is preferred but can be provided if required.
- Familiarity with ETAP, AGI32, or similar design software.
- Field or construction experience including site walkdowns, FATs, or SATs.
- Prior experience in commercial, industrial, or infrastructure electrical design.
- Exposure to project management or construction supervision.
- Calgary-based role with flexibility for occasional remote work.
- Field and client site visits required.
- Contract engagement – must operate through a registered company.
