Job Summary:

Senior Corporate Tax Accountant plays a crucial role in ensuring compliance with Federal, state, and local direct tax laws across the UGI organization. This role primarily focuses on controversy, compliance, tax accounting, and contributes to tax research and special projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

- Assists in the timely preparation and review of the Federal, state, and local corporate and partnership tax returns. Coordinates and manages the completion of filings with third-party service provider that prepares the compliance returns and maintains fixed asset schedules.

- Assists in the timely preparation of the quarterly and annual tax provision in accordance with ASC740 through preparation of tax provision calculations, maintaining FIN48 (Uncertain Tax Position) schedules of accruals, and updating OneSource Tax Provision software.

- Supports direct tax audits by gathering and reviewing requested information, assisting to defend the Company’s tax positions, and preparing responses to taxing authorities. Also responsible for meeting with the tax authorities and respective business unit management.

- Prepares tax calculations and ensures timely payments are made to tax authorities for extensions and quarterly estimates.

- Contributes to the implementation of special direct tax projects, involving internal research and analysis on various direct tax issues, including global credits/incentives and NOL utilization studies across the UGI organization.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft suite and finance technology software tools (i.e., OneSource, SAP, Oracle HFM, Alteryx, etc.)

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills

- Requires excellent time management and organizational skills

- Experience working with tax laws, tax forms and processing, accounting principles, accounting and tax software (OneSource Tax Provision and OneSource Income Tax).

Education and Experience Required:

- Bachelor’s degree in business administration/accounting

- 6-8+ years of progressively responsible professional-level tax experience in a multi-national reporting environment.

- Master of Science (MS) degree in taxation or MBA a plus

- CPA preferred
