Kinetica Partners LLC was formed in 2009 to acquire and/or develop assets in the natural gas midstream business, with a primary focus on gas gathering, treating, processing, and transmission. Kinetica has since established itself as an essential midstream service provider in the Gulf of Mexico operating an extensive network of pipelines and key infrastructure vital to producers in the Gulf. Kinetica was acquired by Eckard Midstream LLC in 2023 as a platform to build a billion-dollar midstream presence that is free from debt and capitalized with 100% private capital.
The Accountant, Special Projects, reports directly to Kinetica’s VP of Finance/Controller and is responsible for supporting the accounting, budgeting/forecasting/financial analysis, financial systems, tax, and internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and other reporting requirements. The Accountant, Special Projects will interact frequently with the VP of Finance and management of Eckard Midstream and work closely with outside audit and tax professionals to ensure all compliance activities are executed in accordance with FERC and other statutory regulations.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE FOLLOWING
Prepare and consolidate Revenue, O&M, G&A and Capital Budgets and forecasts
Prepare Upload files and load budgets into Great Plains
Audit – Coordinate, prepare and respond to external auditor requests for GAAP-related financial audits
Update abandonment Schedules and related restricted cash schedules
Perform End of year accounting Close in Great Plains
Audit - Coordinate, prepare and respond to external auditor requests for FERC-related financial audits
Manage Capital Forecast - actuals, forecast, in-service date, notes, etc.
Create cost reports for in-service projects and review with Program Managers for signature
Set up new projects in Concur for expense coding
Discuss Project cost with Program Managers and update forecasts monthly
Write and support reports in Great Plains and Report Designer
• A bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance is preferred; advanced degree preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in accounting, financial planning and analysis, financial reporting, auditing, and tax
• Extensive experience in oil and gas accounting; FERC accounting experience highly preferred
• Strong working knowledge of MS Dynamics/Great Plains preferred; experience in Midstream operational/accounting software a plus
• Proactive and detail-oriented, capable of monitoring financial systems and controls
• A proven track record in building trust and establishing a good rapport with operational and administrative team members as well as key external contacts including auditors, legal and tax experts
