Total Safety is looking for a Sr. Accountant to join its team! Sr. Accountant performs accounting activities for the corporate entity as well as certain operational business units. And prepares the financial statements for external and internal consolidated financial reporting. Acts as a liaison to the financial planning and analysis department for the corporate functions.
- Prepares monthly journal entries.
- Analyses certain general ledger accounts on a monthly basis to ensure accuracy and to support budget variance explanations.
- Assists with preparation of monthly management reporting packages.
- Reviews monthly financial statements and provide variance analysis.
- Reviews monthly forecast for reasonableness and completeness.
- Ensures balance sheet accounts are reconciled monthly, balances are fully detailed, adjusting entries made accordingly.
- Prepares the monthly borrowing base certificate for the lending institution.
- Supports management with financial analysis/ad hoc reporting.
- Proficiency in using various reports available in RentalMan, Hyperion, Visual Lease, FloQast, Viewpoint and Axiom.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited college or university. CPA a plus. Knowledge of Hyperion, Visual Lease and FloQast a plus.
Experience: A minimum of four (4) years of accounting experience. ROU and fixed asset experience a plus.
Required Licenses or Specific Training: General ledger, account reconciliation, financial statement preparation. Must have thorough knowledge of general accepted accounting principles. Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
Other Required Skills, Knowledge or Abilities: Strong analytical, written and oral communication skills required. Proficiency in Intermediate to Advanced Excel. Capacity to identify and improve accounting processes. Ability to focus on details and perform functions with accuracy. Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily

Hybrid schedule established split between working remote and working in an office environment.
Complexity of Duties and Decisions: Applies established accounting principles, theories, concepts and practices to a wide variety of problems. Makes day-to-day decisions concerning the accounting treatment of financial transactions within the limits of delegated responsibility, company guidelines for financial accounting and reporting and within GAAP guidelines. Must adhere to Company policies, practices and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations. Interprets complex material from tax services, IRS and regulatory agencies and implements same to meet statutory requirements.
Determines the means or process of achieving the objectives established at higher levels and is subject to the limits imposed by the available technology and resources and to the constraints set by upper management. Specifies and oversees what is done at lower levels. Interprets complex material from tax services, IRS and regulatory agencies and implements same to meet statutory requirements.
Authority: No Supervisory responsibility, but regularly serves as a resource to others and may serve as a lead or technical specialist. Models and teaches compliance with all work practices, policies and procedures.
