Rabbit Lake, located in northern Saskatchewan, produced over 200 million pounds of uranium concentrate from 1975 through 2016 and is currently in a safe state of care and maintenance. The uranium mined and milled at Rabbit Lake has been used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to energize a clean-air world.
Cameco is seeking an environmental professional to join the Rabbit Lake team to support delivery on the operation’s environmental protection program commitments. As part of the Environment team, you will act as technical lead for the environmental monitoring program, and will be involved in: planning, collection and submission of environmental monitoring samples; review, analysis and management of environmental data; and reporting. You will also support the development and execution of environmental studies and related technical projects, including progressive reclamation activities. Other responsibilities will include maintenance of the environmental management system, developing and promoting continual environmental performance initiatives and delivering related training. More broadly, you will also provide support for effective waste management and other environmental compliance and performance improvement activities and initiatives.
