As an Associate Environmental Specialist, you will support the Environmental Services Technology Lead in developing and implementing innovative tools and technologies that enhance environmental permitting, site evaluation, compliance, geospatial analysis, and sustainable project development. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to gain hands-on experience using environmental technology, GIS, and emerging tools such as AI and remote sensing to support/enhance environmental permitting.
A strong candidate for this role will hold a Bachelor’s degree or greater in Environmental Science, Geography, GIS, Computer Science, or a related field, have general competency with GIS software (ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise/AGOL, Field Maps), and have an interest in environmental permitting, AI, machine learning, and remote sensing.
Employees in this job support environmental staff in obtaining environmental approvals, licenses and permits for construction and operation of new and existing NextEra, Inc. facilities from Federal, State and Regional agencies.
