The Sourcing & Supply Chain Intern will gain hands-on experience in data analysis, strategic sourcing, and pricing analytics within a global supply chain environment. You will have the opportunity to develop skills in combining traditional analytical methods with AI, collaborating across business functions, and supporting process improvement initiatives aimed at optimizing cost, efficiency, and delivery. This role offers exposure to cross-functional teamwork and the development of innovative solutions that drive meaningful business impact. - Analyze supplier data using AI and traditional analytical methods to identify opportunities for supply base optimization across business units
- Evaluate legacy suppliers to uncover underutilized resources and recommend supplier consolidation strategies to improve cost and delivery
- Assist in the development of material pricing tools and predictive models by integrating engineering material data, global commodity indices, and other relevant data sources
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to share insights and align optimization and pricing strategies
- Prepare and present data-driven findings and recommendations to support global sourcing and procurement initiatives
- Support the development and enhancement of operational analytics tools and processes for ongoing supply chain improvement
The Intern also will learn about and deliver the following:
- Data Analysis: Learn to collect, organize, and analyze supply chain data using AI tools and traditional analytical methods.
- Global Strategic Sourcing: Understand how organizations identify, assess, and leverage global suppliers for optimal cost, quality, and delivery.
- Supplier Management: Gain insight into assessing supplier performance and supporting supplier consolidation strategies.
- Material Pricing and Commodity Markets: Build knowledge of engineering materials, commodity pricing indices, and factors influencing global pricing models.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with teams across procurement, engineering, and operations to solve complex challenges.
- Tool Development: Learn how to use and contribute to operational tools leveraging coding, automation, and AI solutions.
- Cost and Delivery Optimization: Understand how to balance cost savings with delivery performance in a real-world business context.
- Process Improvement: Participate in projects that drive efficiency and value across the supply chain.
- Must be currently enrolled at the time internship commences and working toward completion of Bachelor or Graduate degree from an accredited university or college with Business and Engineering majors preferred.
- Minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Good interpersonal skills to drive collaboration across multiple functions to achieve desired results.
- Ability to work independently or within a larger team as required by the project and subsystem.
- Familiarity with Microsoft office products, i.e., Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication.
- Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
- Other duties as assigned.
