- Complete contracts, purchase orders, and other tasks related to the acquisition of services, materials, or equipment. Assist in managing Supply Chain all processes, general business operations, vendor management, and contract management
- Review and assist solicitations including Requests for Proposal or Quotation, bid list recommendations and validations, receiving and evaluating proposals, coordination of stakeholders and budget owners, developing selection recommendations, and completing and forwarding recommendations for award.
- Assist with vendor category management including developing new vendors, evaluating current vendors, reference checks, and financial stability evaluation. Communicate with businesses to acquire business credentials, tax forms, insurance forms, and financial transmittal information.
- Assist with business subject matter exposure in the variety of disciplines including proposal legal terms and conditions, payment terms, shipping terms, and sourcing.
- Lead independent projects given flexibility, assignment parameters, constraints, and objectives to recommend the best course of action on unique business challenges.
- Develop new business partners, document and explore qualifications, facilitate plant meetings, and acquire supporting documentation to provide plant management with options and choices.
- Assist Accounting as directed to fully inform business process cycles. Accounting duties include performing Accounts Payable duties related to invoices and expense reports. Conduct various inventory, accounting, cost, and material value analysis projects to ensure accurate financial reporting. Verify insurance and OSHA logs are up to date for vendors.
Education: College/University sophomore, junior or senior year student currently enrolled and majoring in Supply Chain, Accounting, Business Management or other related field. GPA of 3.0 or better.
Knowledge and Experience: Must be proficient with Excel and other Microsoft Office applications. Previous experience where evaluating options and attention to detail have been required.
Abilities and Skills: Must be organized, self-motivated and have the capacity of working on a variety of work projects during the internship. Strong communication skills and professional demeanor required. Ability to work 40 hours per week during the summer.
Working Conditions: Inside office work environment primarily. May conduct accompanied plant inspections and safety evaluations of ongoing work related to business coordination in order to relate contracts to functional work and the physical accomplishment of Procurement and Accounting goals.
