Sourcing Manager, Mechanicals
Location: Fremont, CA (preferred)
Role Summary
We are seeking a Sourcing Manager to lead sourcing, planning, and final assembly readiness for mechanical categories support NX’s Products. This strategic role bridges Product Management, Engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure the products are supply-ready, scalable, and cost-effective.
Key Responsibilities•Sourcing Strategy & Supplier Management
•Assess product map and identify sourcing strategy for the critical mechanical, electrical and control subassemblies.
•Develop strategies to control cost, improve capacity and delivery of suppliers as they scale with the NX products growth.
•Risk Assessment and mitigation of legacy suppliers who are sole source or poor performing by identifying alternates sources or by developing risk controls with incumbents
•Improve relationship with competent players while developing alternate sources for supporting key product lines.
•Negotiate pricing, execute contracts, improve capacity and lead times and plan against geo political risks to support NX product ramps globally
•Develop and support after service supply chain by developing suppliers for meeting spares and fleet demand . Provide oversight of execution by resolving commercial bottlenecks, resolving supplier escalations and mitigating operational risks
•Planning & BOM Readiness
•Partner with Product Management and Engineering to develop a supplier chain strategy in line with the product road map transitioning from legacy products to the next generation products.
•Oversight of forecast, demand planning, allocations and procurement processes streamlining hand offs and identifying bottlenecks between business units and NX functional teams. Drive accountability between sales, planning, operations and procurement and where needed be the change agent to drive efficiency.
•Oversight of Change Management practices between engineering and suppliers maintain the production BOM and ensuring effective communication internally and externally.
•Develop readiness plans for early builds, pilots, and scaled production
•Administration of internal planning tools needing sourcing inputs around allocation rules, cost reference settings, price list and quote database
•Final Assembly Enablement
•Coordinate build readiness with internal and external assembly teams
•Ensure tooling, test fixtures, and packaging are in place
•Support transfer to contract manufacturers or integration facilities
•Cross-Functional Program Management
•Act as the supply chain voice in product development and review forums
•Track and resolve long lead time or critical component issues
•Report to leadership on supply chain risk, readiness, and timelines
Qualifications
•Bachelor’s in Engineering, Supply Chain, or equivalent experience
•5+ years in supply chain, sourcing, or planning for electromechanical products
•Strong experience managing a supplier base and a team spread across the globe.
•Strong understanding of BOM structuring, MRP/ERP systems, and supplier qualification
•Ability to work in start-up environments navigating ambiguity , fast changing priorities by leading alignment with stakeholders across engineering, operations, and suppliers
•Excellent communication and decision-making skills
•Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, leading change management initiatives, and effectively shifting priorities as business needs evolve.
Preferred Experience
•Solar, energy, or construction equipment experience
•Experience in early-stage product development and ramp
•Willingness to travel (25%) to Asia and EU & within US

Pay is based on market location and may vary based on factors including experience, skills, education and other job-related reasons. The annual salary range for this position is $130,000 to $140,000.
