Overview
We are seeking dependable and detail-oriented individuals to join our team as Solar Site Assessors. In this freelance role, you will conduct on-site solar assessments by flying a drone around residential properties and documenting key electrical and structural information. The data you collect will directly support our solar design and installation teams to deliver efficient, sustainable energy solutions.
Responsibilities
•Travel to scheduled residential properties for site surveys.
•Operate a drone to capture aerial imagery of rooftops and surrounding areas.
•Inspect and photograph electrical infrastructure (e.g., main panel, subpanel, utility meter, service disconnect).
•Complete a standardized form provided by Atma Energy with required images and observations.
•Upload all images and completed forms via a personal computer within a timely manner
•Maintain clear communication with the Atma Energy scheduling team and report any scheduling conflicts or issues.
Requirements
•Must own and operate a reliable drone suitable for aerial surveys.
•Possess a valid drone pilot license (FAA Part 107 or equivalent).
•Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
•Personal computer or laptop capable of uploading high-resolution images.
•Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standard procedures.
•Excellent dependability—must be responsive and committed to fulfilling bookings.
•Flexibility to accommodate short-notice assignments (within 24 hours' notice).
Preferred Qualifications
•Previous experience in solar assessments, real estate photography, or field inspection.
•Familiarity with electrical components and solar terminology.
•Strong communication skills and comfort working independently.
Compensation & Benefits
•$100 per completed site assessment .
•Flexible schedule with assignments offered based on availability and demand.
Please note that this position involves travel beyond the city limits as part of the job responsibilities. We want to ensure you're comfortable with occasional/regular travel to nearby areas, depending on the assignment.
