The Solar Sales Consultant will report to the Director of Sales and is responsible for increasing solar awareness and providing excellent customer service by managing accounts proactively. Expectations in this role are to offer appropriate and honest solutions to clients, to deliver outstanding client service and assist in the growth of the business.

Job Description:
As a Solar Sales Consultant at PEG Energy, you will be responsible for generating leads, consulting with potential customers, and closing sales for residential and commercial solar energy solutions. This role requires strong communication skills, a passion for renewable energy, and the ability to educate customers on the benefits of solar while guiding them through the purchasing process. Additionally, this position includes administrative responsibilities, such as collecting monthly payments, maintaining customer records, and fostering client relationships to generate referrals and repeat business. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated individual with a proven ability to meet sales targets and build lasting client relationships.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead Generation & Customer Outreach:
•Identify and engage potential customers through various sales channels, including cold calling, door-to-door marketing, referrals, and digital outreach.
•Educate homeowners and business owners on the financial and environmental benefits of solar energy.
•Develop strong client relationships to encourage referrals and repeat business.
Sales Consultation & Closing Deals:
•Conduct in-depth consultations to assess customer needs, energy consumption, and budget.
•Create customized solar proposals and present financing options.
•Guide customers through the contract process and close sales effectively.
Administrative & Payment Collection Duties:
•Collect and process monthly payments from customers, ensuring accuracy and timely deposits.
•Maintain accurate records of customer accounts, sales transactions, and outstanding balances.
•Follow up on late payments and coordinate payment arrangements as needed.
•Keep detailed documentation of all interactions with clients regarding sales and collections.
Customer Relationship Management:
•Maintain communication with clients throughout the sales and installation process.
•Provide exceptional customer service and follow up to ensure satisfaction.
•Address and resolve customer concerns or objections.
Collaboration & Sales Strategy Implementation:
•Work closely with the Sales Manager and team to achieve sales targets.
•Participate in sales meetings, training sessions, and ongoing professional development.
•Stay informed about industry trends, incentives, and technological advancements in solar energy.
· Regulatory Compliance: Stay informed about local and state regulations related to solar installations and ensure all projects adhere to these requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education:
•High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is a plus.
Experience:
•Prior sales experience in solar, home improvement, or related industries preferred.
•Experience with administrative tasks, customer account management, or payment collection is a plus.
•Strong track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets.
Technical Knowledge:
•Understanding of solar energy systems, financing options, and installation processes (preferred but not required).
•Ability to learn and use CRM tools and sales software.
Skills:
•Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
•Ability to persuade, negotiate, and close deals.
•Organized and detail-oriented with strong administrative skills.

Work Conditions:
•Must be comfortable working in a field-based sales environment, including door-to-door sales and on-site consultations.
