The Solar Funding & Milestone Coordinator is responsible for managing all aspects of project funding and milestone progression, including M1, M2, and M3 financing stages, CAD approval, permitting, installation tracking, and PTO confirmation.
This role is essential to maintaining cash flow, ensuring lender compliance, and supporting seamless communication between internal teams, finance partners, and customers.
Only candidates with prior experience managing solar milestones and lender funding submissions will be considered.
- Oversee and manage all funding milestones (M1–M3) for active solar projects.
- Submit, verify, and track documentation in lender portals (GoodLeap, Mosaic, Sunlight, Dividend, etc.).
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of CAD drawings, permits, installation photos, and PTO documentation for lender submission.
- Maintain accurate project status updates across CRM systems and internal dashboards.
- Coordinate directly with design, engineering, permitting, and installation teams to meet milestone deadlines.
- Identify and resolve issues or discrepancies that could delay funding or project completion.
- Communicate effectively with financing partners, utilities, and internal leadership to ensure consistent workflow.
- Support finance and operations leadership with milestone reporting and funding projections.
- Coordinate the process of obtaining permits required for solar projects, including building permits, electrical permits, zoning permits, and environmental permits promptly.
- Track permit progress and proactively follow up with jurisdictions to ensure timely approvals
- Maintain an organized digital and physical filing system of all permits and inspection documents
- Communicate with customers, project managers, and utility companies regarding inspection scheduling and requirements
- Coordinate with engineers and design teams to ensure permit packages are complete and code-compliant
- Maintain a thorough understanding of local codes and jurisdiction-specific requirements
- Stay informed about local, state, and federal regulations about solar energy projects and ensure that all permit applications comply with relevant requirements.
- Prepare and organize permit applications, drawings, specifications, and other required documentation for submission to regulatory authorities.
- Mandatory: Minimum of two years of direct experience in a solar operations and/or funding/milestone coordination role.
- Proven proficiency in lender portal submissions for M1/M2/M3 stages (GoodLeap, Enfin, Sungage, Palmetto, HDM, Dividend, etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to manage 20 or more concurrent projects through permitting, installation, and PTO.
- Strong understanding of solar project workflows and AHJ requirements.
- Advanced proficiency with CRM and project management tools (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar).
- Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, meet strict deadlines, and maintain compliance standards.
