Solar Engineer & Designer

Description:

Sunlogix Energy is seeking a talented and motivated candidate for Solar Engineer & Designer. The Solar Engineer role supports the Lead Engineer. The selected candidate will collaborate with the Energy Consultants, Operations, and Project Management departments to provide innovative, forward-thinking design solutions and options, and clearly communicate the approach for building the project.

What You'll Do

- Works closely with Energy Consultants to provide design suggestions and make any corrections to designs to comply with multiple AHJs and HOAs

- Determine if a project will need panel upgrades, design changes, or new roofs.

- Rub load calculations

- MUST HAVE Solar Engineering experience

- Must be familiar with all local AHJ requirements and codes

- Must have AutoCAD experience

- Recommends alterations to design features to improve quality.

- Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish project goals

- Must have permanent authorization to work in the US.

What We Expect from You

- Basic Knowledge of NEC on solar electrical knowledge

- Knowledge of Autocad and PV simulator Software - Aurora, Hliscope, etc.

- Knowledge of local AHJ, utility, and HOA requirements and clearances

- Solar equipment knowledge, solar inverters, batteries

- 3+ years of experience in planning, design, and/or operations of photovoltaic systems

- A minimum of 3 years of engineering experience performing structural design is required, but it is not a deal breaker

Skills to be Successful:

- Comfort with the technical aspects of the job as well as business and client interactions.

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to write clear and detailed technical reports, presentations, and emails.

- Must be a supportive team member, able to work in a collaborative environment as well as work on self-directed independent projects. Must be self-motivated and self-accountable with the ability to balance multiple projects under tight deadlines.

- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Preferably to also have experience with ETAP, PVSyst, Civil3D, Helios3D, SAM, and Procore.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $33.00 - $36.00 per hour
