Ambrose Solar is seeking a Solar and Energy Storage System Designer to join our team! Ambrose Solar is an award winning locally owned and operated company out Vacaville, CA. Our mission is to provide superior workmanship, excellent customer service and an overall high-quality experience to our customers from the start to finish of every solar project. You will be responsible for the management, creation and delivery of designed subsets for permitting and project completion. This is not a remote working opportunity.
RESPONSIBILITIES
•Analyze pre-site pictures to ultimately create and maintain CAD generated submittal packages and project documentation
•Assist in all stages of project design including conceptual and advanced system design observing regulatory codes as well as customer requirements, balance of systems, working with permitting and technical support during construction phase.
•Assist the project team in collaboration with the Project Manager and Engineering Manager during planning and construction to assure quality and execution according to schedule.
•Assist in the development and review of energy production models, project schedules, cost estimation, bill of materials, budgets, scope of work, standards and quotes from suppliers.
•In collaboration with other team members, contribute to the completion of proposals to design and deliver photovoltaic projects;
•Provide recommendations for continuous improvements in project designs, plans, processes and product development;
•Review and analyze customer provided documents for design consideration;
•Prepare conceptual design for solar projects including selection of major components, equipment layouts, single-line diagrams, etc.
•Maintain well organized documents in AutoCAD that meet the company’s standard
•Provide CAD expertise to the engineering team
•Perform other duties and special projects, as assigned.
•Design system layouts in Aurora
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
•Previous experience in design and/or engineering of PV Solar Systems or other related fields
•Permitting requirement knowledge with nearby jurisdictions
•Experience with AutoCAD (or equivalent drafting software)
•Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
•Experience in pre-sale design software such as Aurora Solar
•Experience in solar permitting processes with local authorities and jurisdictions
•Experience in battery back-up and storage solutions (Tesla, LG, Sonnen, Generac, etc)
•Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think outside the box
•Strong analysis and critical thinking skills
•Excellent written and verbal skills
•Deadline and detail-oriented
