Description
1.1 A High School diploma or GED equivalent.
1.2 Minimum of one year of experience with slitting operation.
1.3 Basic Reading, Writing, And Arithmetic Skills Required.
1.4 Manual dexterity required for operating, machinery, hand tools and hand held technical devices.
1.5 Experience operating measuring devices such as: calipers, micrometers and ovality gauge.
1.6 Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and Slitter operation.
2.1 Examines raw material and slit coils for defects such as chipped edges or marred surfaces.
2.2 Measure master coils and finished slit coils to verify conformance to specifications, using micrometers, gauges, calipers, templates, or rulers.
2.3 Operate the Slitter equipment and perform set ups during change overs.
2.4 Operation Monitoring - Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly.
2.5 Collect and maintain production data.
2.6 Review work orders and specifications to determine materials needed to be processed.
2.7 Employee must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
2.8 Employee must follow the 5S implementation procedure.
3.1 Inspecting equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects.
3.2 Measure the coil with and thickness to ensure conformance to the quality requirements.
3.3 Maintain and fill out all paper work for shift production.
3.4 Monitoring and reviewing information from materials, events, or the environment, to detect or assess problems.
3.5 Maintain good housekeeping practices in the work area and keep it free and clear of debris.
3.6 Check that all machinery is properly serviced before starting up and during shift.
3.7 Assists in repair and replacement of equipment during maintenance shutdowns.
3.8 This position may require operating Forklift and Overhead Crane.
3.9 Communicate with crew to achieve a quality product.
3.10 Assist in changeovers and Mill stops.
3.11 Other duties as assigned.
4.1 This position has the authority to stop Slitting machine operation at any time that is deemed necessary for reasons of safety, quality, or priority.
