We are currently seeking a Skilled Labourer to join our production team and support a wide range of shop and yard operations. In this role, you will assist with fabrication, assembly, insulation, painting preparation, brake and shear work, and general shop maintenance. You will also support the Electrical department and other areas as required to keep projects moving efficiently. This position is ideal for someone who is hands-on, mechanically inclined, and looking to grow within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Assist in basic electrical installation projects, with opportunities for advancement and formal schooling
- Assist in basic metal fabrication projects, with opportunities for advancement and schooling
- Assist in non-structural welding projects, with opportunities for advancement and schooling
- Complete weld-finishing duties
- Perform cleaning, prep, and painting preparation tasks for various projects
- Perform minor painting tasks as directed by supervisors
- Fabricate, assemble, and weld metal components to support production needs
- Assist in setting up and removing equipment and materials in the shop
- Assist with brake and shear operations when needed
- Help with insulating enclosures and installing perforated materials
- Assemble parts, hardware, and components as they arrive
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Support general shop, yard, and electrical department tasks as required
- Ability to read a tape measure accurately
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a related manufacturing environment
- Experience using various power tools and shop equipment
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic personal tools such as tape measure and knife (PPE provided)
- Ability to lift 50 lbs safely
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
- Strong commitment to workplace safety
- Forklift ticket is an asset; training available on site
- Trade school or diploma in a mechanical or electrical discipline is beneficial
- Reliable and punctual
Compensation will be commensurate with the successful applicant’s strengths and experience as measured by the above description.
Day shift: Monday – Thursday 10 hr. shifts (possibility for overtime pay), May lead into weekend shift of 3 x 12 hour shifts.
