General Description:

The laborer position is responsible for performing general labor work along with assisting craftsmen in performing their tasks. Laborers must apply sound judgement and understanding when carrying out detailed or uninvolved written and/or oral instructions. Must have the ability to analyze and handle problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations. Must have the ability to read and interpret safety manuals and warning signs, drawings, specifications, rigging diagrams and lifting capacity charts for equipment and load carrying parts. Must display capable oral communication skills and have the ability to provide and receive oral safety warnings, instructions and task assignments. This position will be responsible for driving CCI's Mission, Vision, and Values, a crucial part of the strategic plan to drive success. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and severe outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles in a mechanical shop environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Hearing protection and the use of safety eyewear is required in most working situations.
