POSITION/TITLE: Shop Maintenance Technician POSITION LOCATION: Schulenburg, Texas POSITION TYPE / Expected Hours of Work: Full Time / Hourly/ Monday-Friday
This position is responsible for the daily, and weekly shop operations regarding maintenance activities. The Shop Maintenance Technician will perform all aspects of equipment readiness, shop cleanliness, and safety protocols while also performing hands-on tasks as needed. The role will be responsible to maintain company equipment to ensure it is field ready and reliable. The Shop Maintenance Technician will work closely with and under the direction of the Field Operations Manager and Technical Business Manager.
- Perform hands-on work to assist with repairs, loading/unloading, facility maintenance and equipment maintenance as needed
- Repair and maintenance schedules for company equipment
- Routinely inspect equipment for safe operation and work readiness
- Maintain and enforce a “red tag/green tag” program to identify usable vs. out-of-service equipment
- Adhere to safety regulations and encourage a culture of safety in the shop
- Communicate with management to provide updates, feedback, and suggest process improvements
- Maintain shop yard and location of equipment for organization and efficient use
- General upkeep of grounds, landscaping, etc.
- Maintain accurate records: equipment worksheets, daily logs, credit card receipts, etc.
- Assist with shipping/receiving of tools and rental equipment; complete Bill of Lading and Receiving Ticket paperwork
- Assist with annual inventory of all supplies, tools, and equipment
- Ensure equipment, trucks, and trailers are DOT-compliant before deployment
- Assist with pre-trip inspections and documentation for outgoing field trucks & trailers
- Perform annual hydrotests on HUS equipment
- Use a company truck to deliver and pickup tools, supplies, or equipment to/from various area vendors
- Perform other reasonable duties as assigned by management
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Experience in diagnosing and repairing equipment problems, performing routine maintenance like oil changes and tire rotations, and other Routine Maintenance
- Shop, mechanical, or pipeline fieldwork experience preferred
- Demonstrated Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Valid Class C driver’s license
- Complete company-provided safety training·
- Good knowledge of mechanical equipment, diagnostics, and repair techniques
- Basic knowledge of pipeline equipment is preferred
- Able to safely operate a forklift and overhead shop crane
- Able to perform Annual Hydrotest on HUS equipment
- Ability to safely operate a ¾ ton pickup and pull an equipment trailer
- Ability to lift heavy loads and stand for extended periods throughout the day
- Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- Willingness to work longer hours if needed to complete a task
- Must pass DOT drug test and background check
- Willingness to work adjusted hours or weekends on occasion
