Shop Hand - Grande Prairie

Savana Well Servicing is searching for a Shop Hand to join our team. As a Shop Hand at Savanna, you will be responsible for assisting with the maintenance, cleanliness and organization of the shop and yard. This position is based out of our Clairmont, AB location.

Core Responsibilities:

- Maintain a clean shop facility area, using domestic cleaning solutions (including cleaning of all equipment and general work areas);

- Carry out maintenance and safety checks of the company’s powered mobile equipment and vehicles;

- Assist with yard work, such as organizing the pipe storage area and setting out supplies for the rigs and shop;

- Pick up/deliver general supplies using company vehicle;

- Transport employees as needed;

- Additional duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

- Operate forklifts and power tools;

- Operate appropriate equipment for lifting, lowering, pushing, pulling, carrying, handling or transporting heavy or awkward loads;

- Interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment;

- Perform all work following work instructions and/or safe operating procedures;

- Strong communication skills, both oral and written;

- Effective organization and time management skills; detail oriented with excellent follow up abilities;

- Decision making skills, ability to trouble shoot and problem solve. Ability to assess a situation and find a reasonable answer;

- Self starter who enjoys responsibility and accountability;

- Must have the ability to work occasionally overtime or weekends as required.

Education and Experience:

- Valid and clean driver’s license;

- Must possess valid H2S and First Aid;

- Loader ticket considered an asset;

- A suitable combination of education and relevant experience.
