Reports To: Shipping & Receiving Manager
Classification: Non-exempt (Hourly)
Hours: 6am - 2:30pm (Monday- Friday)
Job Summary:
Execute duties given by Shipping and Receiving Manager. Properly carry out warehouse duties as assigned. Oversees warehouse functions to ensure systems are running properly and efficiently.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
•Load and unload material from vehicles such as flatbed, conestoga (with assistance), and van trailers.
•Tag and organize inventory.
•Move material within the facility and organize inventory to best utilize space and ensure efficiency in the shipping/receiving process.
•Operate overhead crane and fork truck to load and unload material and to move material within the plant.
•Responsible for bundle splitting using banding tools, fork truck, and overhead crane.
•Perform quality checks with measuring tools and enter in logbook.
•Perform computer functions in Plex including inventory lookup and customer truck shipper (CTS) and internal plant shipper (IPS).
•Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:
•High School Diploma or GED required.
•Warehouse experience preferred.
•General computer experience required.
•Fork truck and overhead crane experience preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
•Strong general computer skills.
•Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
•Ability to read and follow written instructions.
•Ability to perform basic math functions and accurately use tape measure and other measuring tools.
•Ability to follow all safety policies and procedures.
Physical and Environmental Requirements
•Ability to stand for an entire shift to perform job functions.
•Excessive walking throughout the production facility during entire shift to locate steel and perform functions at both bays.
•Physical activity such as bending, reaching, and twisting while pushing and pulling bars of steel or securing bundles of steel.
•Ability to safely ascend and descend steps or ladders to access trucks to perform loading and unloading functions and to access and operate fork trucks.
•Ability to work atop of uneven surfaces to move and secure bundles of steel.
•Ability to frequently lift 15-50 pounds of steel bars repeatedly and occasionally lift up-to 80 pounds of steel bars.
•Constant exposure to machinery and loud noises.
