Ashworth Awards is in need of a dedicated and enthusiastic Shipping & Receiver / Delivery Driver. We are looking for someone who likes to be up and moving throughout the day.
New team members work with the production and logistics team to successfully complete the movement of product between vendors and to the customer.
Job Summary:
As a Shipping and Receiving/Delivery Driver, you will be responsible for all aspects of the delivery and pickup of goods. You will frequently collaborate with other departments to ensure all orders are properly filled, documented, and complete. In this role, you will manage the delivery vehicle and the warehouse, ensuring both are properly maintained and clean. You will often operate machinery to help accomplish tasks and support the general workflow of the company.
Objectives & Responsibilities:
•Maintain all documents and records related to the delivery or pickup of goods, including:
•o Preparing records for shipping
•o Preparing documents to detail received items.
•o Maintaining logs for both travel and cargo
•o Keeping shipment data, including weight, charges, and space availability
•o Reporting damages and discrepancies for record-keeping purposes
•Complete shipping and receiving reports.
•Print shipping labels and postage
•Operate a truck to transport cargo to and from specified destinations.
•Load, secure, verify, and unload cargo.
•Assemble orders and prepare goods for shipment.
•Collaborate with the production manager and logistics team to receive instructions for scheduled delivery or pickup.
•Operate forklift and pallet jack machinery for loading and unloading materials.
•o Assist others in training on this machinery when needed.
•Inspect and maintain shipping and receiving machinery.
•Maintain and inspect the warehouse.
•Receive and unpack materials and supplies.
•Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe workplace.
Knowledge of UPS/Fedex/DHL shipping software is a plus, but not required. Basic understanding of Microsoft office and the Google Suite is recommended.
Class D license and clean driving record required. Forklift license/certification is a plus.
Skills & Qualifications:
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent degree
•Proven experience in shipping and receiving or a similar role is preferred
•Valid truck driver’s license
•Maintain a satisfactory driving record
•Ability to perform routine checks on your vehicle
•Ability to rely on experience, instructions provided, and personal judgment to plan and accomplish department goals
•Ability to perform a variety of tasks
•Knowledge of safety procedures and guidelines when operating equipment
•A certain degree of creativity and latitude
•Familiarity with Microsoft Office programs, Google Suite, and Adobe Illustrator
Language Skills:
•The ability to read and fully understand manuals, rules, guidelines, and other such information in English
•The ability to communicate both verbally and in writing in English
Reasoning skills
•Ability to assess and address problems effectively.
•Ability to interpret instructions and act accordingly.
Mathematical Skills
•Ability to perform basic mathematical computations such as addition, subtraction,multiplication, and division.
Physical Demands
•This is an active position that frequently requires standing and walking.
•Ability to lift up to 65 pounds occasionally and 25 pounds consistently.
•Ability to use hands and fingers for fine motor skills.
•Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
Work Environment
•The work environment includes occasional loud noise levels.
•Occasional exposure to fumes.
