Position Summary
The Shipper/Receiver is responsible to coordinate shipment and receipt of materials, parts, and finished products.
What You'll Do:
- Prepare and pack finished aluminum extrusion products for outbound shipments, ensuring products are securely packaged and labelled accurately
- Coordinate with carriers to schedule and arrange shipments, including selecting appropriate shipping methods and carriers
- Generate shipping documents, such as packing slips and bills of lading, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and shipping regulations
- Receive and inspect incoming materials and components, verifying quantities and quality against purchase orders
- Properly store and receive materials in designated areas and update inventory records
- Communicate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and carriers to coordinate shipping and receiving activities
- Report any issues, delays, or discrepancies to the appropriate personnel promptly
- Operate material handling equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and other tools safely and efficiently
- Maintain a safe and clean workspace at all times
- Responsible to follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act and all Can Art Company Policies
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid counterbalance forklift license
- License for combi lift is an asset but not required
- Minimum 2 years' experience in shipping and receiving role
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
- Strong organizational time-management skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently
- Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in shipping and receiving processes
- Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with internal teams and external partners
- Ability to identify and resolve issues related to shopping, receiving, and inventory management
- Plant Environment
- Exposure to loud noise and heat
- May be required to lift up to 50lbs
- Overtime as needed
