The Shift Leader assumes responsibility for all activities, occurring daily, in the shop facility, for the work shift. The Shift Leader’s primary responsibility is to assure that all employees carry out their assigned tasks according to the requirements of the Quality Management System (QMS) and to the expectations of the Company and its customers. The Shift Leader shall always work and perform in a professional manner.
The Shift Leader is responsible for the performance and conduct of the employees and the operational readiness of the furnaces, ancillary equipment, and shall insure that the Parts Processing Operators (PPO’s) are qualified to perform their tasks in accordance with their job description.
· Assure that all work processed meets the Customers’ requirements and expectations.
· Be fully familiar with the QMS, particularly with all Work Instructions and Procedures.
· Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
· Assure that all records are always up to date including PM and Maintenance records when applicable.
· Assure that the PPO’s frequently monitor their processes.
· Communicate with Operations Manager daily for scheduling.
· Routine inspection of all completed work being delivered back to customers to assure
· Maintain work schedule to always assure maximum production.
· Maintain discipline and professional conduct at all times.

· Confirm PPO’s have their assignments and work schedules and they understand what needs to be achieved during their shift.
· The Shift Leader shall display that he has proactive skills in all aspects of his supervisor
· The Shift Leader will participate and contribute to all required business meetings, and
willingly attend required training and/or participate in online education.
· The Shift Leader reports directly to the Operations Manager
· Must be flexible with work schedule with reasonable notice, must have reliable
transportation, must be willing to personally perform PPO’s duties if required. Must comply with all EMT’s policies, procedures, Employee Handbook, and Safety Manual.
· Previous experience with a heat treater/metal finisher.
