Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Welding Lead to oversee our 2nd shift welding operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, a solid understanding of welding processes, and the ability to ensure high-quality standards in production. This role involves managing a team of welders, coordinating projects, and ensuring safety protocols are followed while meeting production deadlines.
This is a working lead position, so normal welding operations will still be part of the day to day responsibilites
Responsibilities:
•Supervise and lead a team of welders, providing guidance and support to ensure efficient workflow.
•Monitor welding processes, ensuring adherence to quality standards and specifications.
•Conduct regular inspections of work performed by the welding team to maintain high-quality output.
•Train new employees on welding techniques, safety practices, and equipment operation.
•Collaborate with engineering and production teams to plan and execute welding projects effectively.
•Maintain an organized workspace, ensuring all tools and equipment are in good working condition.
•Utilize various tools such as calipers, hand tools, power tools, and press brake machines for project execution.
•Oversee pipe threading and ductwork installation as required by project specifications.
•Implement safety measures to protect staff from hazards associated with welding operations.
Qualifications
•Proven experience in a supervisory role within a welding environment.
•Proficiency in various welding techniques including stick welding and soldering.
•Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
•Familiarity with using calipers and other measurement tools for precise work.
•Experience with pipe threading and ductwork is preferred but not mandatory.
•Ability to operate power tools safely and effectively.
•Excellent communication skills with the ability to motivate a team.
•Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining quality standards.
•A valid certification in welding or related field is preferred.
