Operate Shear machine, and auxiliary equipment producing metal components. This position is responsible for setting up and operating the power-shear machine to cut steel into sheets and plates to specified dimensions and angles. This position requires completion of daily tasks when it comes to schedule adherence, continuous production flow, in process quality checks, troubleshooting machine issues and providing support when needed in the Assembly areas.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:
· Maintain the machine and ensure it is working properly
· Follow all safety rules and regulations in place at the company including wearing all required PPE
· Perform pre-operation activities on one or more pieces of equipment to ensure appropriate startup and operation
· Responsible for the input of detailed specifications for precise machining
· Responsible for communicating incomplete, damaged, or incorrect work to supervisor
· Ensuring metal meets quality standard through the workflow
· Keeping work area clean and free from debris
· Gaining knowledge of machinery in order to perform maintenance or adjust when necessary
· Work in other areas of Assembly as required
· Attendance at work during the regularly scheduled shift is an essential duty. This includes but is not limited to the ability to work overtime as required, to be present at work, arrive on time and be at the workstation ready for work at the start of the shift.
· Must be able to read tape measure down to 1/16th of an inch.
· Experience running and maintaining a shear machine in a manufacturing environment required
· Technical acumen, able to learn machine operations quickly
· Must be capable of standing for long periods of time
· Must be capable of repeatedly lifting 50lbs
Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
