Residential Solar
Position Summary:
The Service Technician is responsible for performing diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs on residential solar panel systems. This includes preventive and corrective electrical work, roof repairs, system upgrades, and troubleshooting of inverters and monitoring equipment.Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose and repair PV systems, including inverters, string boxes, and solar panels
- Perform electrical wiring (AC/DC), voltage testing, and system commissioning
- Complete roof repairs, re-roofs, and drywall as needed
- Install and maintain solar equipment (panels, inverters, monitoring systems)
- Troubleshoot system issues and ensure proper performance
- Work with various solar equipment brands (Enphase, SolarEdge, SunPower, etc.)
- Maintain accurate documentation and complete RMAs
- Ensure safety compliance and high-quality workmanship
- Travel to job sites as needed
- High School Diploma or GED required
- 1+ year solar installation or service experience- Electrical and roof racking experience
- Familiarity with NEC codes and electrical schematics
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work at heights or in confined spaces- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Comfortable with tools, wiring, and monitoring systems (Cat5, Zigbee, etc.)
- Able to read site plans and follow AHJ guidelines
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Team player with strong attention to detail and safety
If required to travel, must have a valid Driver's License/Insurance and the ability to drive a personal vehicle to different sites.
