JOB DESCRIPTION
As a Senior Water Treatment Engineer, you'll play a critical role in designing and delivering innovative water treatment solutions that meet the needs of our clients. Your role will combine technical engineering expertise, regulatory knowledge, and project management responsibilities to ensure successful project outcomes.
Essential duties include:
•Lead the development of strategic plans for water treatment projects, balancing short-term objectives with long-term sustainability goals.
•Manage the full project lifecycle—from conceptual design and feasibility studies to construction, commissioning, and optimization.
•Provide expert guidance on the design and engineering of treatment infrastructure (e.g., treatment plants, pipelines, storage), tailored to mining operations.
•Conduct risk assessments to identify and mitigate potential hazards in water treatment infrastructure.
•Assist clients in meeting regulatory and permitting requirements related to water quality and discharge standards.
•Liaise with agencies and stakeholders to obtain project permits and certifications.
•Collaborate across teams to ensure integration of water treatment goals with overall project objectives.
•Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize system performance, reliability, and sustainability.
•Attend and document project meetings, tracking decisions and action items.
•Prepare and maintain key project documentation including work breakdown structures, risk registers, issues and decision logs, and RFIs.
•Support the creation of governance documents (e.g., Project Execution Plans, QA Plans, Stakeholder Management Plans, Risk Management Plans).
•Track project costs, schedules, and variances with support from the Project Management Office.
•Monitor compliance with internal governance processes.
•Support project change control and manage associated documentation.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Specific skills and experience are as follows:
•Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related field.
•Minimum 5 years’ experience in engineering with a focus on water treatment projects in the mining sector preferred.
•Professional engineering licensure (PE) or equivalent certification preferred.
•Proven experience with water treatment technologies such as sedimentation, filtration, chemical treatment, and advanced oxidation.
•Broad applied knowledge of environmental health & safety principles.
•At least 5 years’ experience in or supporting project management.
•Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
•Ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple assignments simultaneously.
•Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
•Demonstrated experience in budgeting, scheduling, and risk management for engineering projects.
