In this job, you’ll be a member of our Experience Design team, which is a small and growing team, within the Digital & Process Transformation group. Our mission is focused on emerging technology, innovation, design thinking, and agile project delivery. We believe in lean UX and prioritize the experience and the thinking over delivering simple wires.

You’ll be working independently on projects, leading UX functions and acting as the UX expert on those teams. While you’re creating experiences that bring delight to users, you’ll have the chance to explore and incorporate into your work emerging technologies like wearables, AR/VR, blockchain, LIDAR, and more.

Responsibilities

•

Leads or participates in user research activities, including design thinking workshops, interviews, contextual observation, and user testing, both formal and informal

•

Defines, develops and socializes a clear vision for innovative design and big picture thinking while not sacrificing speed of delivery

•

Confidently shares and discusses design solutions with team members, stakeholders, and senior leaders

•

Works with team to define project scope, milestones, timelines, and resource allocations while actively mitigating project risks and challenges

•

Contributes to crafting and communicating design strategies and visions that inspires and motivate

•

Upholds design requirements and brand standards to create a unified design language across our products

•

Creates journey maps, personas, user flows, wireframes, motion studies, mockups, and low to medium fidelity prototypes. Contributes to user stories to aid in communicating design intent

•

Leverages data such as analytics and user research insights to inform design decisions to address business goals. Incorporate user feedback into the iterative design process

•

Stays up to date with design trends, best practices, and emerging technologies, bringing fresh ideas and innovative design approaches to the solutions

•

A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications

•

Seven or more years of experience in UX design.

Preferred Qualifications

•

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Industrial Design, or related major.

•

Seven years of experience solving complex UX problems.

•

Four years of experience communicating the UX to stakeholders and developers via flows, wireframes, mockups, and prototypes.

•

Experience working with multi-functional teams to achieve quality user experience.

•

Experience leading discussions with the development team, product managers, and stakeholders to communicate UX and design.

•

Experience leading UX discovery activities to gain an understanding of project requirements.

•

Experience designing and facilitating usability testing.

•

Skilled in standard design & wireframing tools (e.g., Sketch, Figma) and simple prototyping tools (e.g. Invision, Figma, Sketch)

•

Experience creating high-level artifacts (journey maps, experience maps, personas, flow diagrams, etc.).

Additional Information

•

This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

Position will require up to 5% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.
