The Senior Technical Services Specialist is a member of the Technical Services Department whose main responsibility is to function as a liaison between the Client, Engineering and Construction Management. This position requires complete comprehension of the overall life cycle of a project and each construction phase from FEL-0 to startup. Responsibilities include reading, analyzing, and interpreting engineering documents/drawings, technical procedures/specifications, government regulations, business correspondences, and technical manuals as well as the ability to write reports, business correspondences, and procedures.

Ability to train and coordinate Technical Services Associates and Specialists.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of technical training and experience.
Minimum of six (6) years technical experience in petrochemical, power generation or heavy industrial technology. Advanced understanding of construction drawings and specifications. Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Excel, Bluebeam, and 3D design review software.
- Coordinate assigned work with client, engineering disciplines, construction disciplines, and other contractors.
- Ensure work complies with drawings and specifications by maintaining communication with Engineering, Estimating, Planning, and Scheduling Assist in project survey activities.
- Ability to understand and discuss technical issues pertaining to all crafts and can relay information to engineering, management, etc. to assist the field.
- Able to verify reports for accuracy before approval and distribution.
- Ability to evaluate project discrepancies/questions and reports information utilizing the RFI system. Coach peers on the RFI process and the utilization of RFI system. Evaluates RFI submittals to reject, respond, or forward the inquiry. Recommends proposed solutions to the RFI submittals with proper approvals. Ensures supporting documents are adequate. (e.g., pictures, drawings, redlines, etc.).
- Understands the construction project's scope of work and reviews information that will be used to classify the FCO and assess potential impacts to the project. Discuss and modify estimated labor hours/dollars, material dollars/quantity, equipment dollars, and subcontracted cost that will be needed to complete the FCO with stakeholders (e.g., Craft Supt., Subcontract Manager, Engineering, vendor, etc.) and verify with project controls.
- Investigate and document all vendor back charge issues. Ensure the correct distribution is employed to facilitate the collection of back charges.
- Assist in the distribution of drawings, specifications, and the maintenance of revision control.
- Advanced understanding of system definitions and how we use them. Able to read and understand system definition P&IDs/one-lines.
- Ability to identify test packages from the system definition P&IDs and find all associated piping isometrics. Able to check for revisions and print test packages when requested from the field.
- Ability to provide direction for hydrostatic testing programs.
- Ensures that systems are ready to be walked and is able to lead a mechanical completion walkdown with the Client.
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

Working knowledge of algebra, trigonometry, and geometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Proficient with understanding of coordinates and elevation calculations.
Ability to stand, walk, reach, climb and balance. Vision must be clear at close and distance with depth perception and ability to focus.
Normal work environment will be a construction site within operating plants. This will require exposure to outdoor weather conditions, loud noise, work near moving mechanical parts, electrical energy, construction equipment, vibration, fumes, chemicals, and airborne particles.
