NSB Omega is searching for a Senior Subsea Engineer for our MAJOR Oil & Gas Client in St. John's, NL.
Assignment Description
The Senior Subsea Engineer (WH/XT/FB/MF) is a member of wells team and supports Terra Nova drilling, completion, Intervention, and work over scopes associated with the Terra Nova well work. The subsea engineer will contribute to engineering, procurement, maintenance, equipment readiness and installation work for Wellheads and Xmas Trees along with work associated with Xmas Tree to Flowbase and Xmas Tree to manifold interfaces. The Subsea Engineer will also oversee and co-ordinate the inspection maintenance and readiness of the Client's owned equipment and service tooling. The Subsea Engineer will conduct the work in accordance with the Client's Code of Business Conduct, established procedures and wells standards and policies.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
•Perform concept evaluations and provide input to basis of design for current and potential drill center expansion
•Provide evaluations and reporting to support project decision gates
•Review design reports and drawings
•Provide progress reports and project timeline reporting
•Co-ordinate infield subsea scopes in advance of MODU campaigns
•Co-ordinate technical condition reports on all tooling
•Provide recommendations for repair or replacement of ROV tooling or ROV tooling components
•Witness all tear downs, inspections, and rebuilding of equipment at vendor locations
•Conduct system integration testing on all equipment tooling
•Provide recommendations on equipment spares
•Liaise with certifying authority as required
•Assist with new contracting initiatives as required
•Includes life cycle considerations in the well and completion design such as operation, intervention, and abandonment
•Identification and communication of risk within planned and unplanned operations
•Assists in the selection of suitable service contractors, equipment and developing procedures together with the equipment manufacturers for assembly and operation
•On-site supervision of daily activities (as necessary)
•Communicates with DCI or subsea personnel as required
•Responsible for monitoring the safe and efficient management of change
•Responsible for capturing and implementing lessons learned from one program to another
Qualifications Required
•Bachelor’s degree in engineering with minimum 10 year related oil & gas experience with preferred experience in subsea equipment/engineering
•Strong interpersonal skills with proven ability to manage third parties
•Excellent communication, presentation, and reporting skills
