Position Specific Description

NextEra Energy Transmission (NEET) is seeking a bold and driven Senior Strategy Manager – Transmission Projects to take full ownership of our most critical strategic initiatives. This is a hands-on, high-impact position for someone who thrives on solving complex problems, driving outcomes, and shaping the future of the transmission business.

You will be responsible for leading the development and execution of NEET’s growth strategy, owning workstreams that directly influence our most important decisions and investments. This includes:

- Designing and refining our go-to-market strategy to unlock new opportunities and competitive advantages.

- Partnering with development and commercial teams to assess potential projects across strategic, financial, regulatory, and operational dimensions.

- Shepherding multi-billion dollar transmission deals through the full approval lifecycle, from concept to due diligence, and approval.

- Project managing and executing transformational initiatives that embed both industry best practices and cutting-edge technologies like AI into our business to enhance performance, scalability, and innovation.

This role demands a strategic doer with deep curiosity, critical thinking, and a profound sense of ownership and accountability. You’ll be expected to bring integrity to every aspect of your work, demonstrate humility, and show a genuine excitement for learning the transmission business inside and out. You’ll work cross-functionally with stakeholders and subject matter experts across the organization, driving alignment and momentum in a dynamic, fast-paced environment. Your success will be measured not just by your insights, but by your ability to turn strategy into action.

This position reports directly to NEET leadership and offers significant exposure to senior leaders across NextEra Energy. It’s a unique opportunity to lead from the front—driving strategy, shaping decisions, and making a lasting impact on the future of energy transmission.

Key Success Metrics

- Strategic deliverables—such as go-to-market plans, project evaluations, and approval materials—are consistently high-quality, error-free, and submitted on time, meeting both NEET and NEER standards for content, clarity, and impact.

- Transmission project approvals advance smoothly through internal processes, with no delays or rejections due to gaps in strategic analysis, documentation, or stakeholder alignment.

- Leadership is equipped with clear, actionable insights that enable confident, timely decision-making across development priorities, without bottlenecks or information gaps.

- Strategic initiatives owned by the Senior Strategy Manager—such as technology integration, market entry, and project assessments—demonstrate measurable progress and contribute directly to NEET’s growth objectives.

- Cross-functional collaboration results in strong alignment across development, commercial, regulatory, and operational teams, with the Strategy Manager recognized as a trusted and accountable partner in execution.

- Translate strategic insights into actionable plans and deliverables that directly support leadership decision-making and long-term business objectives.

- Ensure all work reflects a deep understanding of NEET’s business model, competitive environment, and operational realities, with a focus on clarity, impact, and execution.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

- Work closely with development, commercial, regulatory, and operational teams to ensure strategic alignment and seamless execution.

- Engage with subject matter experts across the business to gather insights, challenge assumptions, and strengthen project evaluations.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

- Identify and implement best practices and emerging technologies—including AI and digital tools—that enhance NEET’s strategic capabilities.
