Job Purpose
The Senior Manager of Strategic Planning will lead the development and execution of strategic initiatives that drive business performance, optimize value streams, and support new market opportunities. This role bridges long-term corporate planning with operational excellence, fostering a culture of continuous improvement through lean methodologies and data-driven decisions.
Duties & Responsibilities
1. Business Planning & Value Stream Optimization
•Develop, monitor, and update the annual business plan (including monthly production plan) to align with SeAH Group’s long-term strategy.
•Monitor the value stream map across SeAH Steel USA’s full business cycle to identify bottlenecks, waste, and opportunities for lead time reduction. Initiate and drive actionable improvements to enhance flow and operational efficiency.
•Track and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify areas of opportunity and implement high-impact improvements.
•Oversee raw material purchasing performance; coordinate with steel mills to enhance cost, delivery, and quality performance.
•Initiate and manage strategic projects aimed at improving prime yield, efficiency, and resource utilization.
2. Lean Process Innovation & Data Analytics
•Analyze operational data to identify inefficiencies and trends; translate insights into actionable strategies.
•Promote data-driven decision-making across leadership and frontline teams.
•Collaborate with department leaders to implement lean initiatives aligned with company objectives.
•Lead cross-functional Kaizen and A3 problem-solving workshops focused on waste elimination and cost reduction.
•Deploy lean methodologies (e.g., Value Stream Mapping, 5S, A3 Thinking, Standard Work) to institutionalize process improvements.
3. Business Development & Market Expansion
•Conduct OCTG and structural pipe market research to support new product development and expand sales opportunities.
•Identify and develop direct sales channels, especially for structural pipe (2-3/8” – 7-5/8”).
•Strengthen the line pipe supply chain by improvement of communication with SSA.
•Support investment planning by benchmarking best practices and assessing facility expansion needs (e.g., coating lines).
•Oversee progress and execution of strategic projects such as IPC (Internal Plastic Coating).
Qualifications / Competencies
Education:
o Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
Years of Experience:
o Minimum 7–10 years of experience in strategic planning, operations, or process improvement roles.
Personal Competencies:
o Strong working knowledge of Lean principles and HFW/API 5CT manufacturing standards.
o Proven leadership in managing cross-functional projects and driving organizational change.
o Advanced analytical skills with experience in operational KPI tracking and improvement.
o Strong communication and interpersonal skills to influence at all levels of the organization.
o Project management expertise with the ability to balance multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment.
