Available Job Opportunity: Senior Specialist of Sustainability
Location: Vaughan, Ontario
About the role:
Reporting to the Head of Corporate Development, the Senior Specialist of Sustainability at KGHMI will be responsible for coordinating and leading change within the company to track, report, and implement solutions to benefit enterprise wide ESG and Climate Policy goals. Furthermore, the Senior Specialist will collaborate with sites and corporate business units to make actionable projects, technology, and initiatives that will result in innovative solutions that bring economic and environmental benefits to the company and stakeholders at any phase of a site's lifecycle.
Job Responsibilities:
I. Environment, Social, and Governance (ESG)
•Lead the introduction of KGHM Global system and process to track and monitor nonfinancial factors and indicators required by KGHM Group.
•Coordinate and consolidate the recurring ESG report for KGHM International.
•Work with site and corporate leadership to develop and/or mature ESG criteria and standards.
II. Climate Policy and Decarbonization
•Work with site and corporate leadership to develop and justify transformational projects and/or initiatives to achieve KGHM Group Climate Policy and Decarbonization Strategy milestones while improving sustained business results.
III. Sustainability Champion
•Work with the sites to incorporate sustainable lifecycle management practices for improved life of facility planning aligned with KGHMI's Core Values.
•Support academic and industry partnerships to advance sustainable mining solutions and new technologies to benefit the company and stakeholders.
IV. Support the sites as needed in permitting, environmental compliance, stakeholder engagement, and social license initiatives.
Required/Related Work Experience:
•Minimum of 3 years of experience in the ecology/environment business area, some experience preferred at a mine or industrial operation, and experience preferred at a corporate or head office.
•Previous experience with ESG topics, programs and mining/manufacturing industry considerations.
•A background that includes budget development and cost control experience, as well as economic evaluation and justification for capital purchases and investment decision-making, is a plus.
Education Required:
•Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering, or equivalent
•An advanced degree in science is very desirable.

•Strong problem-solving ability.
•Must be highly motivated and have the ability to multi task in a highly dynamic production work team environment.
•Strong organizational skills with the ability to coach, mentor and lead diverse teams.
•Ability to communicate with all levels of the organization and stakeholders.
•Moderate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Project.
•Fluent written and verbal command of English.
