About This Job

Overview

The Senior Specialist supports the Contract Management in performing a review of contractor billing and payments to contractors that perform work for overhead electric distribution construction, vegetation management line clearance, mutual assistance storm payments. Review field documentation, contractor field unit sheets (daily activity reports) ensure proper accounting in the verification and reconciliation of contractor invoices to ensure payments are properly justified. Maintain project accounting and current working estimates for overhead reliability projects and tree trimming and hazardous tree budgets. Assist in work management system in project closeout Use Oracle E-Business Suite application at various responsibilities involving procurement.Responsibilities

Core Responsibilities* Monitor and track project costs, accruals, and contractor expenses to ensure accurate invoicing and receipting of goods and services.

Process requisitions and purchase orders, including materials, services, spot buys, and blanket purchase agreements.

•

Verify and approve Oracle invoice entries for contractors while preventing double billing through bi-monthly reports.

•

Handle vendor invoice review and payment processing to maintain financial accuracy.

•

Support storm and emergency response efforts, including contractor dispatching and timesheet reconciliation.

•

Coordinate with internal teams (Control Center, Engineering, Project Management, etc.) for contractor productivity and safety

•

Prepare monthly accruals for overhead and line clearance contractors, including unpaid service accruals.

•

Track and manage service payments, such as dumpster services and other contracted work.

•

Assist with reporting and investigations, ensuring thorough documentation and analysis as required.

•

Perform night, overtime, and weekend duties, ensuring readiness for emergencies and special projects.

Qualifications

Required Education/Experience* High School Diploma/GED and 5 years of relevant work experience or

•

Associate's Degree and 4 years of relevant work experience or

•

Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of relevant work experience.

Preferred Education/Experience* Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Management, Economics or Engineering

•

and 3 years of relevant work experience in Project Accounting/Purchase Requisition, Human Resources, Payroll, Con Edisons General Accounting systems, Oracle, BI, Contract Administration, Work experience in developing and monitoring budgets, programs and goals.

Relevant Work Experience* Demonstrated leadership and communication experience. Required

Understanding of ConEds business (e.g., services provided, current events) and FP&A function (e.g., objective, role, deliverables). Required

Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Required

•

Understanding of basic accounting principles (e.g., income statement, balance sheet). Required

•

Demonstrated critical thinking capabilities and proactive qualities. Required

•

Demonstrated strong leadership skills. Required

•

Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills. Required

•

Work experience with Hyperion Planning, Hyperion Strategic Finance, work management systems, and budgeting tools (e.g., Oracle, SAP). Preferred

Licenses and Certifications* Driver's License Required
