Wood is seeking a Project Manager to coordinate the execution of various projects in our Oil, Gas and New Energies Canada Business, with a core focus on LNG Sustaining Capital programs in the Kitimat, British Columbia area!
The Projects may include both Green and Brownfield work – and can include Engineering, Procurement, Fabrication, and Construction support project types; across the full life cycle project stages; Studies, DBM, FEED, Detailed Design/Execution.
The Role
This role has overall responsibility for:
Project Delivery: Working directly as Wood’s local project representative with our Clients, overseeing the development of budgets, schedules and reports as well as for the management and coordination of engineering and procurement project staff and sub-contractors to ensure safe, cost effective, efficient and timely completion of projects to meet and/or exceed client expectations.
Kitimat Office Management: Working with our Canada leadership team and our Canadian Centre of Excellence in Calgary, manage the local Wood Kitimat office, staff, and day-today office needs, including oversight of the health, safety, and wellbeing of our local team.
Business Growth: Working with Wood Business Development to continue to grow existing Client relationships, seek new opportunities to offer the full depth of Wood’s services in the region, and be the Client-facing representative of Wood Canada to clients in the region. Build relationships and seek business opportunity with local Indigenous businesses and organizations.
The Project Manager is responsible for ensuring safe project delivery, building a local team, ensuring that quality, schedule, and cost targets are met and for managing the associated risk. Responsible for delivery of project to agreed processes & specifications, for managing change and customer relationships, and ensuring appropriate reporting and governance is adhered to and controlled.

Final salary will be based on relevant and applicable experience, education and the specific skill set and qualifications required for the role.

1. Local Kitimat Office Leadership
•A champion and role model for ethical behavior and compliance with applicable laws and policies.
•Seek opportunities to work with local Indigenous businesses, engage with leaders, and attend events, building on Wood Canada’s commitment to promote reconciliation with our First Nations people in the region.
•Coach, mentor, and empower others to make decisions within established parameters.
•Interface with Calgary-based discipline department managers on staffing needs, mobilization and demobilization of local resources.
•Coordinate with Wood’s Consulting business and Subject Matter Experts to provide local Customers with One-Wood solutions to their daily challenges.
2. Business Performance
•Responsible to support growth of the existing work portfolio in the region, seek new opportunities, and build strong client relationships.
•Maintain P & L responsibility on assigned projects including revenue delivery, margin and overhead management, budget and forecast determination and attainment, risk and opportunity reviews, cost controls, accounts payable/billing and cash collection
•Regularly report project progress to senior Wood and Client management
3. Project Execution
•Develop and review project proposals and plans to determine timeframe, procedures for accomplishing the project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the project
•Follow Change Management process to proactively identify, assess, and approve modifications to scope, cost, and schedule.
•Pursue and develop opportunities for innovation, leveraging Wood’s extensive digitalization and technology tools, workshare and high value engineering centers, to bring value to our customers.
•Establish client-specific project procedures and lead production of project execution plans including the scope of work, deliverables list, master schedule, budget, org charts, and risk register.
•Responsible for delivery of agreed schedule and financial performance, proactively intervening to avoid slippage
•Ensure competence of project team members to carry out assigned work
•Oversee Contracts and call-offs (may be individual projects) within delegation of authority, ensuring compliance with contracting policy and standards of ethical conduct.
•Lead ongoing focus on risk identification and mitigation during project execution
4. Working Relationships
•Primary point of contact for customer on assigned scope. Establish and maintain positive and effective customer relationships in the Kitimat and area
•Manage relationships with external suppliers and sub-contractors and resolves any associated cost, schedule and quality issues.
•Build internal and external relationships, maintaining focus on being positive and growth-oriented.
•May act as company representative and play a role in contract negotiations.
•Influence relationships at higher customer level.

Expected:
•Post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant discipline, or equivalent experience.
•Oil and Gas related EP/EPC/ EPCM environment, within Engineering/Procurement, Construction and/or Operations.
•ASET, APEGA, Project Management Professional (PMP), Associate in Project Management (APM) or equivalent certification is preferred.
•Minimum of 15 years engineering or operations experience focusing on Midstream, LNG, Gas Processing projects including at least 5 years in a project management role.
•Authorization to lawfully work in Canada without sponsorship from Wood now or in the future is required
Knowledge, skills, and experience:
•Thorough understanding of project management techniques and practices.
•Thorough understanding of project goals, drivers, strategies, stage gate processes, and schedules.
•Recent experience on the LNG-Canada project is a significant advantage.
•Proficient in the use of MS Office 365 products.
•Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
•Ability to work with people at all levels.
•Effective organizational skills and be able to multi-task.
•Strong track record of successful project completion
Work Location:
•The facilities being serviced are in the Kitimat area, and therefore we are seeking someone who is currently resident in the Kitimat / Terrace area, or who is willing to relocate.
•Working shift is a standard 40 hour work week, with the opportunity to work a hybrid schedule from your home.
