SUMMARY:
We are seeking a highly skilled and driven Production Engineer with deep experience in unconventional oil and gas operations and surface facilities engineering. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the optimization of well performance, production systems, and facilities in unconventional reservoirs. This role requires a blend of subsurface production engineering expertise and surface facility design knowledge to ensure operational efficiency and maximum recovery.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
•Evaluate well and reservoir performance to optimize production in unconventional plays.
•Design, implement, and optimize artificial lift systems (ESP, gas lift, plunger lift, rod lift).
•Recommend and support well interventions, stimulation treatments, and workovers.
•Model Pipeline related operation and regulation.
•Create piping and integration diagrams along with process flow diagrams.
•Work with field operations to troubleshoot and resolve production issues quickly.
•Provide technical input to design and upgrade surface facilities: separators, compressors, dehydrators, flowlines, tanks, etc.
•Participate in field development planning and execution for new and existing unconventional assets.
•Monitor and analyze real-time data to identify underperformance and production deferrals.
•Ensure production systems and designs meet HSE standards and regulatory compliance.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Petroleum, Mechanical, Chemical, or related field).
EXPERIENCE:
•5 - 7 years of proven experience in production engineering, particularly in unconventional resources.
•5 - 7 years of experience in surface level facility design.
•In total Ideal candidate will have 10 – 20 years total experience.
•Strong understanding of facility operations and maintenance practices.
•Proficient in data analysis and process optimization techniques.
•Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
•Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
•Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations in the oil & gas industry.
SKILLS:
Must have the following skills and/or abilities:
•Production Surveillance & Optimization – Proficient in interpreting well data, decline analysis, and optimization techniques for shale/tight formations.
•Artificial Lift Design – Experience with multiple lift methods, lift selection, and performance troubleshooting.
•Facilities Engineering – Ability to design, size, and evaluate wellsite and central production facilities.
•Well Operations – Understanding of well completions, workover operations, and hydraulic fracturing impacts on production.
•Leadership – Demonstrated ability to lead and work within a team environment.
•Flow Assurance – Knowledge of multiphase flow, sand control, paraffin/hydrate mitigation, and erosion control.
•Software Proficiency – Advance knowledge in engineering software utilized in the energy sector.
•Project Execution – Strong planning, coordination, and communication skills to execute field-level projects.
•Cross-Functional Collaboration – Ability to interface with geoscience, drilling, completions, HSE, and field teams.
•Data Analysis & Automation – Experience with data-driven performance monitoring and digital oilfield tools.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Must have a current valid driver’s license and a satisfactory driving record.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to perform the following physical activity on a frequent to constant basis:
•Sit for long periods of time.
•Lift 10–20 lbs. of files, plans, office supplies, or similar items.
•Constantly uses fingers and hands when dialing/answering the telephone and operating a computer or other office machinery, such as a copy machine, scanner, and computer printer.
•Ability to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information through verbal communications in person or detect objects in and around job site over the telephone.
•Average, ordinary visual acuity is necessary to prepare or inspect documents; operate a computer or other office machinery; or.
•Walk short distances on slippery, even, and/or uneven surfaces.
•Stand, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, turn, or crawl.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
•Will require frequent job site visits involve performing work in outdoor weather conditions with exposure to extreme cold, heat, and noise depending upon project site.
•May travel locally during the workday.

LOCATION:
Killam Oil and Gas., Ltd is located in Laredo, Texas; this is an in office position based at our office in Laredo, all applicants will be required to relocate, if necessary.
