Job Summary
Under the general direction of the VP Manufacturing, the Senior
Manufacturing Engineer is responsible and accountable for supporting the
improvement of product flow and throughput, quality, and cost. This
includes designing and/or specifying the proper equipment, tooling,
fixtures, and dies, and assisting in a Total Productive Maintenance
(TPM) program.
Main Duties/Responsibilities
• Demonstrate and instill the company?s Core Values throughout the

• Ensure a safe working environment is maintained at all times by
following and promoting safety policies and procedures.
• Strive to do things right the first time in collaboration with other
support functions.
• Participate in cross-functional teams to improve product flow and
increase throughput by evaluating plant layout, equipment, and
manufacturing processes.
• Assist in the development of best practice process workflows and
work instructions in pursuit of first-time quality results and
increased throughput.
• Develop justifications and requisitions for the needed plant
equipment and facilities. Support the development of the annual
Spending Plan with anticipated capital expenditures.
• Assist in the design of tooling, fixtures, and dies for improving
capabilities and/or increasing throughput.
• Participate in maintaining the Equipment Inventory list,
Manufacturing Capabilities list, and proper tooling selection charts
and lists.
• Work closely with maintenance and/or plant personnel to produce
tooling, fabricate fixtures, and resolve equipment and facility
issues in a timely manner. Coordinate with outside contractors
performing work as required.
• Work with maintenance personnel in support of a Total Productive
Maintenance (TPM) program.
• Aid in reviewing and understanding drawings and schematics for major
equipment repairs.
• Collaborate within a team atmosphere and contribute accordingly.
Work in a respectful and professional manner with fellow employees,
management, and suppliers.
• Actively participate in the improvement of processes and procedures
to improve the safety, quality, throughput, and/or cost
competitiveness of TFES?s products.
• Document lessons learned to gain knowledge and insight on successes,
shortcomings, and unintended outcomes in support of continuous
improvement efforts.
• Participate in project and production meetings to ensure
manufacturing engineering projects are progressing as planned to
support production schedules.
