Job Description Summary
A Design Process Engineer in Oil & Gas, LNG, or RNG roles designs, optimizes, and implements processes and equipment for facilities, including new and modified ones. They work on projects involving process simulation, equipment sizing, and ensuring operability, reliability, and ease of maintenance. This role also involves developing documentation, conducting process studies, and participating in design reviews.
Job Description
Responsibilities and Duties
•Drive detailed process design activities for various capital projects.
•Develop of Heat and Material Balances, PFDs, P&IDs, piping design and specifications, valve sizing and selection, FEED, detailed design, and construction support.
•Experience with developing Aspen or other process simulation models, hydraulic modelling and AutoCAD/ Plant 3D.
•Serve as the lead process engineer for PHAs/HAZOPs and other risk assessments, PSV sizing cases and calculations.
•Conduct process studies, including feasibility studies, and cost-benefit analyses.
•Review bid packages and technical submittals for process equipment and components for code compliance.
•Answer RFIs from construction team and external design firms as necessary regarding process design.
•Collaborate with cross-functional teams (operations, construction, environmental, safety).
•Manage multi-area projects and process system initiatives.
•Complete other responsibilities as assigned
Skills
•Holds a bachelor’s or higher degree in Chemical Engineering and preferably has 15 years of experience in Process Engineering within the Oil & Gas, LNG, or RNG sectors.
•Experience with process design for Anaerobic digesters (ADs), Heat Exchangers, Pumps, Compressors, CHP systems preferred.
•Knowledge of process systems, flow assurance, and process safety management.
•Ability to perform and review process calculations for all unit operations.
•Ability to work in large teams with stringent timelines.
•Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation).
•Self-starter with a passion for renewable energy
•Ability to Travel up to 25%
