Senior Operator - North Portal Gas Plant

Focusing our efforts within the Western Canadian Sedimentary Basin and Bakken Resource Play, Steel Reef has become a market leader in developing the emissions-to-energy practice to supply net new energy from flare gas, a previously unavailable source.

In 2024, Steel Reef entered into multiple long-term Power Purchase Agreements with SaskPower. Following construction of additional utility-grade electricity substations and generation turbines powered by recovered flare gas, Steel Reef will provide more than 100 megawatts (MW) of electricity within Saskatchewan and North Dakota, which could power more than 100,000 homes annually.

Reporting to the Lead Operator, the Senior Operator is responsible for supporting the Lead Operator in execution of all Site Authority duties as outlined in SRIC Control of Work COP within your assigned facilities. You will provide direct coaching, guidance and support to operating staff and contractors to consistently meet or exceed expectations in the following areas: facility online time, operating costs, policy administration, corporate values, environment, health, safety, training, regulatory compliance, and emergency response.

The position will require travel time to other facilities and Calgary as needed.
