Primary Purpose
Perform, coordinate and analyze natural gas scheduling activities to optimize Sempra Midstream’s portfolio of pipeline transportation, LNG deliveries and storage assets. Confirm and nominate customer supply obligations in accordance with contract provisions and tariff, maintaining accurate timing and adhering to contractual procedures. Input movement of physical gas in ETRM system to reflect actual gas flows and coordinate with back-office and counterparties for invoicing of physical gas activities. Actualize monthly scheduled volumes with interconnecting pipelines and manage OBA balances and pipeline positions. Be an excellent communicator with great customer service while managing challenging deadlines, weather outbreaks and LNG plant trips. Being able to manage and optimize pipeline positions during critical events is of the utmost importance while supporting natural gas optimization strategies.
Duties and Responsibilities
Manage nominations, confirmations, imbalances, and other related activities on various natural gas pipelines and storage facilities.
Utilizing a thorough understanding of transportation contracts, nominate appropriately based upon contract entitlements, receipt and delivery points, and capacity avoiding any overrun or other unforeseen incremental transportation charges. Regularly apply problem solving skills to more efficiently and effectively move supply on pipelines.
Ensure positions are appropriately reflected and balanced in ETRM system through the accurate and timely data-entry and review of data. Assist back-office with invoice reconciliation.
Track and interpret pipeline curtailments and operational issues using pipeline electronic bulletin boards (EBBs) or communicating with pipeline transportation representatives. Relay issues or concerns and advise the Trading team on potential impacts and alternative solutions.
Regularly communicate and collaborate with the Trading team and customers regarding physical positions. Provide consultation on more effective or valuable supply paths – optimization of all assets.
Develop and maintain knowledge of pipeline tariffs and rate cases as required for our client base, asset management and accounting.
Ensure positions are appropriately reflected and balanced in ETRM system. Assist back-office with invoice reconciliation.
Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties).
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or similar field of study.
5+ years of relevant experiences.
Working knowledge of US North American natural gas pipeline scheduling, operations and constraints.
Established professional network of Interstate and Intrastate pipeline representatives.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically in Excel.
Excellent communicator and team player.
Proven ability to work in a fast paced, demanding, and constantly changing environment.
Proven ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and meet strict and competing deadlines.
Excellent planning, organization, problem solving and analytical skills.
Schedule: Monday – Friday PM and rotating on-call after hours and weekend coverage for holidays and vacation coverage for team.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with ETRM system Openlink Endur, Quorum, Trellis, Latitude, DART, LINK, 1Line.
Spanish is a plus.
