Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineer passionate about product design and innovation? Here is your opportunity to leave a lasting mark on IMDEX’s world-class products, driving advancements in both new developments and existing tools.

At IMDEX, we create sophisticated instruments that combine sensitive electronics and scientific sensors with rugged, field-ready mechanical designs. Our products play a critical role in the geoscience and mining sectors, delivering precise downhole drilling and core orientation data.

In this dynamic role, you will work alongside global teams in Product Management, Manufacturing, and Quality, addressing challenges across installation, operation, maintenance, and repair. Your expertise will be vital in driving design and development of industry-leading products that redefine innovation. This is your chance to:

- Work within our structured New Product Introduction (NPI) framework to bring groundbreaking ideas to life.

- Collaborate with other mechanical and electronic peers on design projects for IMDEX’s diverse product portfolio, ensuring they meet the highest standards of performance and durability.

- Manage updates and enhance existing IMDEX tools and products, guiding them through the engineering change process.

- Ensure that all QA/QC requirements are met and exceed expectations.

You will thrive in a fast-paced environment, skilfully managing multiple priorities and deadlines. Your ability to translate complex engineering concepts into clear, actionable insights will keep internal and external stakeholders engaged and informed. To thrive in this role, you will need:

- A recognized degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics or equivalent industry experience in a high technology sector.

- 10+ years of experience, with exposure in lead or principal roles favourably looked upon.

- Proficiency in Solidworks 3D CAD Software, including PDM and analytical modules.

- Demonstrable experience with high-performance tools and assemblies that incorporate electronics, sensors and precision mechanisms for harsh, demanding environments.

- Comfort in the utilisation of various manufacturing processes, including machining, casting, die-casting, and injection molding.
