The Senior Mechanical Engineer provides expert technical leadership in maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving plant mechanical systems. This role oversees preventive maintenance programs, ensures the reliability and availability of critical equipment, and serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for maintenance and reliability practices. The Senior Mechanical Engineer also plays a key role in mentoring junior engineers, driving continuous improvement, and supporting a safe, efficient, and compliant operation.

- Lead maintenance engineering activities, including troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues.
- Develop, implement, and monitor preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
- Support root cause analysis for equipment failures and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide technical guidance and training to junior engineers and technicians.
- Lead plant trip assessment teams and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
- Collaborate with department leaders to align maintenance goals with operational objectives.
- Ensure all repairs meet quality and safety standards.
- Maintain accurate and complete equipment history records including downtime, cause codes, priority codes, man hours, materials utilized, and cost incurred.
- Adhere to all Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental (HSSE) regulations.
- Plan and execute maintenance improvement projects within budget and timeline.
- Participate in turnaround and outage planning.
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors to ensure project success.
- Always present a professional image to clients and vendors and maintain a positive reputation of the company.

- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.
- Minimum seven (7) years of experience in process plant environment.
- Strong knowledge of static and rotating equipment, maintenance and reliability engineering.
- Proven ability to lead and influence teams.
- API certifications 510, API 570, API 653, API 580, CMRP, CRE, CRL
- Experience with HAZOPS, PSM, and reliability-centered maintenance (RCM).
- Project management experience in industrial settings.

- Microsoft Project and either SAP or Maximo working experience preferred.
- Physical ability to work around and on industrial equipment, including frequent climbing of stairs and ladders.
- Ability to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in designated areas (respirator, hard hat, safety glasses, gloves, heeled boots, and hearing protection).
- Ability to lift 20 lbs. occasionally.

- Some work is performed within an office environment, including office equipment – such as computers, telephones, and copiers.

- Regular 40-hour work week, normal duty hours as assigned.
- Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
