BBA is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer, with strong mining industry experience, to help shape our continued growth in Central Canada. In this role, you’ll be a technical leader and trusted advisor in projects from early-stage studies through detailed engineering and field implementation You’ll ensure the highest technical quality, building lasting client relationships, and play a key role in developing new business opportunities. As a senior member of our team, you’ll also mentor future talent and contribute to a culture of collaboration and innovation.

- Lead with purpose: Guide mechanical scopes of work, budgets, and proposals

- Engineer complex systems: Manage and design critical mechanical packages, material handling, dewatering, compressed air, ventilation, and more.

- Drive project success: Lead mechanical scope on conceptual, pre-feasibility, feasibility studies, and detailed engineering studies

- Be a trusted advisor: Build strong relationships and represent BBA as a technical leader in the mining and metals sector

- Shape the future of mining: Be a key team member in executing both brownfield and greenfield projects, from small upgrades to major site developments

- Stay connected to the field: Conduct site visits, inspections, condition assessments, commissioning, and testing (site visits are typically up to 10 days at a time, depending on project needs)

- Showcase your expertise: Share your specialty with clients and industry groups, positioning BBA as a leader in sustainable, innovative solutions

Overview of certifications and job requirements:

- University degree in Mechanical Engineering

- 10+ years of relevant engineering experience in the mining sector with a preference for 5+ years in consulting

- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation in Ontario (or eligible to register)

- Valid driver’s license

- Available for site work and short-term assignments (roughly 15% annually, dependent on business and client needs)

- Excellent knowledge of MS Office Suite and other applications as well as databases and interfaces

- Knowledge of AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Navisworks

- Asset: Knowledge of Fathom and FEA tools (ANSYS or similar)

- Asset: Site experience
