Primary Purpose
Directs and is responsible for managing the electric operations of our Dixon location. Responsibilities include but are not limited to, ensuring employee and public safety, promotion of diversity and inclusion among the organization, environmental compliance, innovation and efficient operation, maintenance and construction of the electric distribution system, providing a premier customer experience and prudent financial acumen. The Electric Operations Manager Is accountable to the safe and efficient operation of the Overhead, Underground and Operating departments which contributes as an ambassador of safety to ensure rigid compliance of safety rules, processes and procedures. Invests in a broad level of experiences and backgrounds, promotes an inclusive environment and leverages different experiences to foster employee development. Responsible for creation and execution of strategic initiatives related to meeting or exceeding the business goals of the organization. Responsible for upholding customer satisfaction as it relates to service quality, workmanship and reliability. Deliver financial performance through prudent fiscal oversight and execution of short term and long-term financial decision-making. Oversees and establishes synergies between Operating and Construction and Maintenance functions to ensure safe and efficient execution of the work plan while maintaining focus of the premier customer experience through direct or indirect communication with our customers and all-around quality of service. Is an all-around contributor in obtaining attributes required of a high-performance organization. Additional responsibilities include providing business recommendations for the strategic use of contractors and integration with multiple partnering organizations. Manage and maintain working relationship with local union (e.g., IBEW Local 15). Regional Oversight and leadership of storm restoration strategy. Position may be required to work extended hours for coverage during storms or other energy delivery emergencies.
Primary Duties•Implement regional strategic objectives. Provide direction and leadership and apply benchmark learning's to focus efforts on achieving company and business unit goals. Monitor, review and provide guidance to meet scorecard metrics around safety, productivity, reliability and customer service.
•Direct the construction and maintenance of all electric distribution new business, facility relocation, system reinforcement, repair/replace and preventative maintenance inspection activities. Includes providing assistance in outage response and restoration, distribution switching and the implementation of distribution operating contingency plans in order to support the operating system.
•Provide leadership to and development of the Construction and Maintenance team. Provide accurate and timely feedback regarding performance and operations. Conduct performance reviews and identify opportunities for growth and learning for construction personnel. Develop and execute labor strategies involving employees covered under the CBA.
•Regularly interface with key leadership while representing the Construction and Maintenance organization on issues and initiatives related to the electric distribution system, reliability, preventative maintenance and regulatory compliance. Interface with customers (internal and external) in order to resolve construction related issues.
•Develop and maintain an environment that fosters a high-performance safety culture and an innovative organization. Lead Construction and Maintenance team in promoting diversity. Serve as a change agent for business initiatives and assures that the human element is understood and considered. Assure timely recognition of employee contributions. Develop methods to assess communication effectiveness and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
•Support preparation and manage the overall Regional Construction and Maintenance budget. Establish and monitor business plans and Construction and Maintenance financial objectives. Balance cost control with expenditures necessary for emergency response.

•Degree of Responsibility: Responsible for the operation of a main regional area, which includes, but is not limited to, functions related to ensuring employee and public safety, promotion of diversity and inclusion among the organization, efficient operation, maintenance and construction of the electric distribution system, providing a premier customer experience and prudent financial acumen. Promotes and contributes as an ambassador of safety to ensure rigid compliance of safety rules, processes and procedures. Invests in a broad level of experiences and backgrounds, promotes an inclusive environment and leverages different experiences to foster employee development. Responsible for creation and execution of strategic initiatives related to meeting or exceeding the business goals of the organization. Oversees and establishes synergies between Operating and Construction and Maintenance functions to ensure safe and efficient execution of the work plan. Financial accountability is demonstrated through managing $25-50 million in capital and O&M expenditures per region, with significant impacts on company earnings. Oversees initiatives to reduce the duration and frequency of Customer Outages (CAIDI/SAIFI) and manage the field force response rate for emergent callouts. Internal and external contacts include in-depth contact and collaboration with employees, union leadership, contractors, senior and executive management, customers, governmental and community organizations, regulatory agencies (ICC, PUC, or BPU, DOT, OSHA, etc.), and other utilities. Generally, operates with wide latitude for un-reviewed action and decision-making. Day to day supervisory responsibilities is direct, administrative or functional in nature, and typically involves the management of a workgroup, through subordinate management, or project team. Direction includes oversight of strategic initiatives/work assignments to supervisors, craft personnel, and other regional department heads. Generally, operates independently making decisions affecting electric service restoration, emergency preparedness, and response to issues as required to maintain system integrity.
•Total Customers: 400,000 to 1,000,000 per region
•Decision Making Responsibilities: Consult with dispatch organizations on decisions affecting system integrity. Determine appropriate staffing levels and actions to maintain operational goals.
•Contacts: -All levels of Operations (DSO, Transmission, C&M) including Sr Management. Routine external customer contact including government and regulatory.
Minimum Qualifications
•Bachelor's Degree and 10 or more years of related experience, including 3-5 years of managerial or supervisory experience, or in lieu of bachelor's degree, 12-15 years of related experience is required.
•Demonstrated knowledge of collective bargaining agreements.
•Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of electric distribution systems.
•Demonstrated knowledge of environmental and regulatory compliance.
•Proven leadership ability in a high-performance results driven culture.
•Proven high-level management skills in coaching and development of business skills.

Preferred Qualifications
•Graduate Degree or Graduate level work in Engineering, Business Administration or related field is desirable.
•Demonstrated ability to achieve results for performance improvement in safety, productivity, customer relations and reliability consistent with the annual Utility/Department/Region scorecard metrics.
•Demonstrated experience in negotiations and providing strategic input on labor relation strategies.
•Demonstrated commitment to harness the strengths of individual differences for the common good of the corporation and its employees.

•Annual salary will vary based on a candidate’s skills, qualifications, experience, and other factors: $145,600.00/Yr. – $200,200.00/Yr. plus an additional $25K in Long Term Incentive Plan annually.
