Overview
The Senior Manager FP&A will lead the Financial Planning and Analysis team ensuring the accurate, on time delivery of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial results and the quarterly future forecasts for the Consolidated CBI Business. This critical role operates in a fast-paced environment and is required to:
- Provide financial leadership and Guidance to the three Area Finance Teams and also to the Global Management Business Heads and their wider professional staff on accounting, cost base optimization and working capital management matters.
- Be accountable for consolidating, reviewing, optimizing and providing financial rigor to all of the financial inputs received from the Area Finance Teams and Global Business Function Heads.
- Develop in partnership with the Global Business Function Heads departmental cost plans and budgets that are used to drive business performance.
- Independently make relevant proposals and decisions guided by resource availability and functional objectives with a view to optimizing financial performance.
This position is a manager role. The role directly reports to the Sr Director, FP&A and routinely interacts with Senior Management, Regional Operations & Business Development Leads.
Responsibilities
- Lead the Financial Planning and Analysis team ensuring the accurate, on time delivery of the monthly, quarterly and annual financial results and the quarterly future forecasts for the Consolidated CBI Business.
- Directly manage and develop the team of FP&A analysts and advise / facilitate the development of the wider CB&I finance team (c. 80 employees) in the three Business Areas, specifically with a view to enhancing the finance functions capability in the areas of financial accounting, accurate forecasting and financials systems knowledge.
- Actively engages with the Global Business Heads and Area Finance Leads with a view to optimizing forecasts, budgets, and long-range planning which make the business more competitive.
- Drives the achievement of operational and financial objectives by analyzing and challenging current and past trends in key performance indicators (including all areas of revenue, cost of sales, expenses and capital expenditures etc.) to make a meaningful impact to the business.
- Manage the monthly financial closing process while driving improvements to quality and timeliness by leading a disciplined close process, including coordinating critical financial milestones and analysis across the Global finance teams within the accounting and finance organization.
- Lead and advise on all technical accounting matters in the quarterly and annual financial statements process, including footnotes, managements’ discussion and analysis, and other required disclosures.
- Essential finance point of contact to the financial business systems IT team regarding month-end close and all forecast processes.
- Identify and research variances to forecast, budget, and prior-year expenses, proactively identifying opportunities for P&L and Cashflow improvements.
- Develop and maintain strong effective relationships with business partners and cross-functional teams at all levels of the organization ensuring an inclusive environment.
- Drives and positively influences effective communication between the Areas, Global Management and CB&I Corporate to ensure quality monthly and quarterly forecasts and are submitted timely.
- 10-15 years of relevant experience; minimum 5 years in a management position
- Recognized 4-year Accounting degree (CMA, CGA, CA or MBA designation(s))
- CPA preferred
- Master's preferred
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP accounting and reporting standards
- Knowledge of ERP accounting software (JDE, Essbase, and Cadency/Trintech experience is a plus)
- Intermediate to advanced PC Skills: MS Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint required.
- Hyperion HFM and Smartview experience is required.
- JDE, Essbase, and Cadency/Trintech experience is a plus.
- Experience in the Energy & Construction Industry a plus.
